Wow good on you.
we are gluttons for punishment

Not really, we are just two really good people who get along well

We did the proposal and ring thing but never a "wedding"...don't wanna jinx a good thing now so might not do it

There are some tax benefits, health care etc etc but if your happy and don't have kids and not planning to not much else upside.

In my situation we are both divorced. We have never even discussed marriage. The closes we have come is that we have matching Gear Rings.

like a fidget spinner ring...very cool
we got lots of rings but I never wear a ring and she rarely does either
basically we are on a 20 year date(didn't mean to try and win thread, probably should have let more answers come in first)

Sounds like a good healthy relationship.

Mine also has the matching necklace and earrings she found somewhere else. If she ever needs something really flashy or expensive her mom is fairly well off and has all kinds of shiny things. Mine isn't really into it despite her mom always insisting she takes it up a notch. We are going on a family cruise down the Rhine in a few months. Her mom foot the bill for the entire family. We aren't sure how it's going to go. :)

You might be able to relate to this. When she practiced in Oregon her patients would make comments if she wore something they perceived as too expensive. In Boca it's just the opposite. Wealthy women ask her why she doesn't display a higher wealth. Gotta love them.

I started dating a girl when I was 18 and she was 17. She finally dumped me after 8 years. I feel bad beause she always wanted kids and I took her prime years from her. She finally married some dude when she was in her mid 30s but I don’t think she ever had kids. I married my now wife after 6 months of knowing her, and she’s 10 years younger than me and we have 3 kids. She must be pissed.

Holy shit! I had some of the same circumstances. I never wanted to get married or have kids. I met a gorgeous girl and she said all the right things. 2 people could be happy together and not have kids blah blah blah. Like a dumbass I married her built a house etc etc. She started in with the kid talk. I said no. She filed for divorce after 5 years also going a bit nuts. Ended up Marrying a Brazilian years later and had a kid. My first ex remarried and I don't think she ever had kids.

I dated a chick for 5 years who never wanted kids. She had 2 sisters who never had kids of their own. What's the chance of 3 sisters not having kids?

Maybe they had it rough at home growing up and didn’t want to pass that shit on?

Exactly what happened in the case of mine. One of the sisters wanted kids but it never worked out. Mine and the other one that didn’t want kids actually raised other mens kids. When she told me that before we even went out I was ready to dismiss her. A male friend had another take on it. He said she was probably a really kind and good person to do that. He changed my mind.

Their mom and dad went through a really bad divorce. Yelling screaming and that didn’t stop after the divorce. I think for at least the one I dated it set the wheels in motion. She also suffered from depression and was just never happy in general. That started to rub off on me when you are around that all day. Thankfully my current GF is the complete opposite in every way.
