Derrick Lewis put on a good show against Junior dos Santos at UFC Wichita last Saturday, but ‘The Black Beast’ was unable to handle dos Santos’ knockout power.

Lewis, who was reportedly suffering with a serious knee injury heading into the bout, was knocked out in the second round of the UFC Fight Night 146 main event.

As is par the course for many UFC fighters, Lewis has been criticized by online trolls - and head coach Bob Perez isn’t too happy about it.

Speaking to MMA Fighting on Monday, Perez grilled the online trolls and ‘morbidly obese’ reporters for criticising Lewis’ performance, calling Lewis’ critics ‘haters’ and ‘f-cking idiots.’

i agree that reporters should get off their asses, if nothing else than to gain some empathy. they need to get rocked, they need to have their ribs punched. they need to exercise to muscle failure.

fuck their opinions if they literally don't know what they are talking about.

I get it. We are indeed shitty fans and we always have something
negative and shitty to say. That's because the world is comprised of
shitty people.

Especially when operating in crowds. (individually we aren't so bad)

He's just telling the mob what what we don't wanna hear.

He has to tune it out though. So does Beast.

He's right the fans are shitty.. but they are correct.. It's pretty sad that Lewis was anywhere near the title hunt considering how lazy and untalented he is.. just shows how shallow the talent pool is at HW in the UFC because all the real money for HWs is in real sports like football, basketball and baseball. (edit) He's like a lazier version of Roy Nelson..

Hes had one foot out the door for years. He used to say back in like 2016 that he just wanted to buy a house and he would retire. Hard to take anything he says too serious cause hes a comedian.

I think he could go on to have a good career as a comedian or doing podcasts. But he always seems outta breath so that might be a thing
