We were talking about covers the other night in the studio, and the engineer (an old rock guy) brought up Mary J Blige having a good cover of Stay with Me by Faces/Rod Stewart, I remember hearing it in The Umbrella Academy on Netflix, it's pretty good....

I'm impressed by her, not necessarily a fan of her original work (she's got a few good songs, and a hell of a voice), but she won me over with these covers.

Agree with all this. Never heard either of these covers until, she did a great job on both. Would’ve never expected either of those from her (which doesn’t mean much as I only sort of know her music), but she’s got a great voice and it worked well on those.
Oh man, what a jam this is! Cool lineup they did here. The bass and drums are rocking the whole time...and Clarence White on the telecaster?! Awesome, CW is one of my guitar heros because of his bluegrass flatpicking (he was super influential to bluegrass and folk guitar as we know it)
