Ever since he won the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 226 last July, Daniel Cormier has been campaigning hard for a Brock Lesnar fight. But last week, the WWE star reportedly failed to reach an agreement with the UFC and decided to just walk away, ultimately ending any possibilities for this matchup.

Now, “DC” shifted his focus back to those on the active roster. His first order of business is a rematch against Stipe Miocic, which is set for UFC 241 in Anaheim on August 17th.

And as early as now, Cormier is already confident he would pull off another win.

“I just don’t know how I can beat him better than I beat him last time,” he said during Monday’s episode of the Ariel…

This fight would be for the GOAT title IMO. Jon’s picograms and DC’s HW title are major considerations in the discussion. You have to toss the NC out so if Danny boy beats Bones at 205, there would be no question. If this were a clean contest at HW, there would still be a P4P question. Long story short... if DC takes this at LHW for his final fight he may or may not end up the GOAT, but he most certainly has the biggest balls the sport has ever seen

Imo, (which is decades long) with the totality of factors considered, Jones is not even eligible.
GSP & DC are closest, but still distant 2nd's to the clean, pudgy 5'11" guy who dominated the most dangerous ruleset at HW, small & large for 10 years.
No "heavyweight" in martial arts has shown the speed, skillset, or adaptability to opponents as Fedor Emelianenko.
Imo DC is above GSP just on range of opponents and wrestling credentials.

Someday Fedor may be passed by someone; DC is likely too old & his deterioration and sloppiness is evident.
Too bad he didn't start earlier.
What he's done in a relatively short time is inspiring.
Fedor was next level though.
I liken his superiority and shocking upset to Alexander Karelin.

Honestly, looking at totality again, Mousasi should be given significantly more consideration in that argument.

Jones is a much bigger man than DC.

Having to beat him at LHW instead of HW to be the 'P4P' GOAT therefore makes absolutely no sense.

DC has spent his career fighting in 2 of the sports thinnest divisions.
I get it, Canada's awesome.

I like GSP, a lot.
But, he's been on sauce throughout imo, and fought in one division, under predominately one ruleset that favors him.
Best WW ever, but he bowed to the GOAT, rightfully.

I have no idea if GSP has used steroids in his career. What I do know is that he’s never tested positive for anything, called for stricter testing and the UFC shit on him because of it.

Why do you expect belt holders to change weight classes to prove their worth? No one gave Matt Hughes shit about not fighting above his weight class, why should GSP be held to a different standard?

Is the GOAT you’re referring to Anderson? Who has tested positive more than once, shown syringes in his bathroom during a tour of his house, continually called out fighters in lower weight classes all the while pretending his friendship with Jones is the reason he won’t challenge him?

I thought your GOAT was Fedor? And if so, GSP has bowed to and repeatedly said that Fedor was the greatest fighter of all time.

Jones isn't getting by santos, so none of this really matters. Having said that, why dc, why? Just sail off into the sunset.

I want Jon to get wrecked as bad as anyone, but i think he beats DC at any weight.
D.C. is awful powerful and comfortable when he doesn’t have to cut weight
He dropped josh Barnett on his head and is super strong and hits like a ton of bricks at hw
I think 205 takes something out of his power

I love DC, but I have a feeling he will look back and wish he had retired on his birthday as planned. Rematches with Stipe and Jones are both so risky and you have to question whether he will be the same at 40 years of age coming off back surgery.

Then again, his bank account may double after these two fights, so he will always have the means to drown his sorrows in a bucket of Popeye’s chicken.

Be incredible if DC beat a juicy JJ @ 205, but it's not a fair fight. DC's definitely depleted by the weight cut.

Far more interested in this fight @ HW, where they'd both be at their best.
