Hate seeing the veterans getting pummeled, but they refuse to let their warrior spirits fade...

“Until the limit. Pain is your friend. It shows you are not dead yet. They say that great symbols become great targets, perhaps. But the most important thing is to not victimize yourself. If you fell, get up. If it’s broken, fix it. No giving up or thinking that you can’t because you lost a battle. There is one saying, I will go until the end and the more they pressure me, the more I will want to go until the end. There’s nothing wild that feels sorry for itself. An old lion surrounded by hungry hyenas, crazy to devour him and he still fights to the death without ever feeling sorry for himself. And it won’t be different with me. Strength and honor.”

You are 1-6-1 in your last 8 with the one win being a contested decision over a mid-tier fighter and your last win before that against Stephan freakin’ Bonner. The hungry hyenas arrived a long time ago and are getting sick of lion at this point.

I laugh, but it is sad.

Just fight Vitor again in Rizin NYE.
Two TRT & cheque-dropped old lions tearing each other to shreds.

For the princess.
To the death...NO!
To the PAIN.

Am I the only one who thought he was just getting timing down before the kick to the knee? He got that bounce going and looked like he was about to start stepping it up...then boom, the knee kick.

As soon as I saw that bounce it gave me flashbacks of the anderson of old, like in the leben fight where he gauged timing, then got going. It's moot considering the end came literally right after this, but that is just the feeling I had. Perhaps it was just wishful thinking for nostalgia, but I haven't seen that bounce in years, so it makes me think he was feeling it.

He didn't look too bad and his kicking speed was great to see. He kept eating those leg kicks like they were from Burger King though

He didnt look great, agreed, however as soon as I saw that old bounce, I honestly thought he was about to turn it up. He has done that so many times, so it made me think he saw how to turn it up and close the show. I haven't seen that bounce since before the Weidman #1. His fights after that showed him fighting without that swagger. Again, I could totally be blinded by nostalgia.

I am completely blinded by nostalgia as well. When he threw that taekwondo double roundhouse I was starting to believe again. I agree that he did look better than in the last few years. Might have even been a bit leaner than in the last fight

I think he is so technically proficient that if he became more aggressive/offensive he could still have a good chance against many of the top guys. His counter-striking style and clowning relied heavily on his quickness and reaction time, but unfortunately those have both significantly declined as he has aged.
