I find this statement extremely concerning.
Is it that much of a surprise? The US has a WAY higher murder rate than the UK and Canada is kinda half way between the two, socially. You have socialised healthcare, higher education and less racism, so of course it's not as bad as the US but you're still a little influenced by their culture.

You need to break it down regionally. Nebraska vs Illinois.

Coming from you, yes. "Well, we're not as bad as..." Is neither a logical, or tenable position. If someone posts some article about the Canadian government doing something utterly retarded I'd concur "Yeah, some things are pretty fucked." Not "Well, this specific thing is worse where you are so we're doing something right."

Or we have a bunch of super violent Indian reserves that skew that stats enough to puts Canada .6 homicides ahead of England. Granted England's rate seems to be going up substantially over the past few years so...

When everyone has a who cares attitude you get what London looks like now. Any actual Brits left?

I have a friend who lives down the street from Arsenal stadium. Every neighbor and every shop is a shitholer. To me at least that’s very sad. Why would a country want to do that to themselves and say they are OK with it?

I was responding to a comment from a Canadian that said, "the UK is beyond fucked", on a thread about the UK police boasting that they confiscated a spoon.

I think you're reading too much into this.

I just watched one of the most logical people I know blame a foreign culture for something easier explained in a handful of other ways.
Lol @ calling American culture "foreign".

I mean technically yes but the two cultures are basically the same fookin thing.

Canada has a higher murder rate than the UK, so we're doing something right (I agree we do a lot wrong).

As long as they operate with the limits of British law, I don't give a toss.
Does UK have separation of church and state?

Except that our farthest right politicians couldn't run as Democrats and that pesky old rampant poverty. So other than the extremely large differences yeah, it's pretty much the same.
