He was defending. What do you want the ref to do?I lost track after 10. My aptitude for numbers is terrible, as is the reffing here (from tonight's TKO 48 card):
He was passive. He had a hand partially covering his head/face as elbows rained down on his skull many, many times. He easily could have remained in that position as he went unconscious after that many blows. He was defending. What do you want the ref to do?
You're grossly exaggerating how cleanly he was being hit. He wasn't cut, and he wasn't knocked unconscious. Wasn't it you who was posting about how slams should be banned a couple weeks ago?He was passive. He had a hand partially covering his head/face as elbows rained down on his skull many, many times. He easily could have remained in that position as he went unconscious after that many blows.
I thank my lucky stars you are not a referee.
tapping to strikes is a tough one. but at this stage, the ref's job is well understood - he will jump in to save a fighter who is just protecting themselves..15 elbows by my count...
Ref could have stopped sooner. Honestly, fighters need to suck it up and start tapping to strikes like in the past.
It is not a pussy move.
A pussy move is to do nothing but cover up and make noises only the ref and opponent can hear that forces the ref to stop it without you tapping to strikes. It puts the ref and your opponent in a bad position and it is all because you want to look like a tough guy...
Agreedbut if they knew for sure the ref would let him hit you 15 times, we might see a few more taps emerging.
