Fitting has different meanings to different people. Most people aren’t going to reshaft used clubs. Most likely they are going to put a piece of electrical tape on the bottom of the club and have you hit a lie board. They will bend the hosel to get the mark in the center. That isn’t fitting to me but better than nothing. Forged clubs can be bent with little issue. Cast clubs can break when bent and a lot of shops won’t bend them. The shaft to me is just as important as the lie.

If you are married to those heads and money is no issue than by all means reshaft them if that is needed. To me it would be worth it but that’s me.
I’d like to keep the heads, for now at least. Putting new shafts, grips, etc. would be worth it I feel.

Do yourself a HUGE favor. If you want to keep those heads got to the site I posted HG and put your zip code in and see if there is a fitter near you. Even if you just pay the guy for your specs it would be worth it over going to a golf store. If the fitter can do the work obviously that would be even better. there is a world of difference between guys who just fit and guys who work in a store and do it as a side thing.

I know my HG guy would do it if someone really liked their heads.

I’ll check it out. We also have a private club that has hosted LPGA events that has a pretty modern golf instruction setup and one of the pros was a Golf Digest Top 100 fitter, but I think they’re way overpriced due to the prestige of where they are.

I never heard of your clubs. Do you know if they are cast or forged? Some companies will bend them for you (cast) if you send them in so that's an option also to do maybe in the winter. I have had cast clubs bent signed a release as they say and luckily never had one break but it can happen.

Nike Vapor Fly... they are cast, I’m pretty sure.

It’s not much, but this is only my 3rd round of 18. Usually I slum it up at the range or play a drunken front 9...

Broke 100 with a 98 and didn’t lose my ball. Had 3 pars and only four 3-putts!

Congrats brother. Now it's time to break 90. Hardest thing for a casual golfer to do, but now that you've broken 100, I bet you shoot several rounds in the 90's this year and even get into the low 90's. Word of advice. Short game...chipping and putting. It can shave 10 strokes off of a round.

Here's how difficult golf is. I think of myself (or did) as a pretty athletic dude. Played multiple sports, basketball into college. Been playing golf recreationally for 30 years. I've shot in the 70's THREE whole times. Hundreds of rounds. Three times. No hole in one's, ever. Closest was about 3". Played three times this year. First round was 92, second round 86, third round 95. Never know from round to round. The goal when I go out now is to shoot somewhere in the 80's.

Same. Closest I ever came was about 12".
I've had a handful of chip-ins, but I've never holed one from the fairway outside 100 yards.
None of those at all, but this was only my 3rd time playing seriously. Had a couple close eagles from the fairway, my only birdie landed about 3’ from the pin on a par 3, and I popped out a bunker shot for par. I feeling a crazy shot is coming next round haha

I found one of those old brush tees on the rang yesterday. I haven't seen one since the 00's, so decided to try it out today. I feel like I was either hooking or slicing most shots for some reason. This was after work and I was tired. I also see in the video that I wasn't keeping my right arm close to my body as much as I usually do. Shot was a fade btw...

I'm not much of a swing analyzer. Looked a bit rushed compared to my swing, but whatever works for ya.

Did it go where you wanted it to?

Fades roughly on target. Not perfect, but it's where it needs to be for the ball to be playable right now. I'd rather work on my short game at the range than hammer out drives for an hour. And yea I kinda rushed that one. Usually, it's a smoother backswing with my right arm ever so slightly gliding along my body. I can actually manipulate the ball how I want with short irons now. I'm still wild past 5I to the driver though.

I need to see that on my computer but I can see you aren’t getting a lot extension or getting to your left side hard enough. In other words you are leaving distance in the bag. A few lessons would really help.

I choked up on that one too. Could that be why? I do see and did feel scrunched up on that swing. Also, it was after 12 hours of work lol
