tarantino has great movies in the 90s and spent the last 20 years making pretentious shit to stroke his own inflated ego. i dont see how a tarantino star trek can not possibly be an epic abortion

Gosh, we are a bunch of Negative Nancies, chiming in just to voice our dislike...that would be a good title and premise for a film.

He's become a parody of himself.

This star trek will have Quark rubbing Seven of Nine's feet while discussing the intricacies of oral sex, and Jean Luc Picard arguing with Worf on whether or not he has the pass for an N Bomb...where Tarantino will obsessively drop the n bomb via writing.

Tarantino could make a 15 minute single cut scene where he circles our whining until we get that its a unique cinematic technique.

I actually love a lot of his movies. I just think that he's been laying it on so thick that I get nervous as to whether it will be a great film or just an homage to himself.

And he did write True Romance, so for that I'd let him give me a foot massage.

He's richer than you. And has a bigger yacht. No way he would touch your stanky trotters

Tarantino is Tarantino.

Pairing him up with a standard that spans decades seems at first glance as a travesty to the franchise.

From True Romance to Jackie Brown, he had me. Everything after that....not at all.

I like most of Tarantino's stuff, but this doesn't feel like a good fit.

I don't like this either. While i like his movies, let him do a something similar, rename the characters and ships, call it something else and do his own thing with it... kinda like seth macfarlane did.
But star trek has been a family friendly product for decades. This could be taking the Star Trek franchise in a direction there's no coming back from.

At the start of Kill Bill (one of my favorite movies ever) he opens with a line of text:

'Revenge is a dish best served cold'
Then when he reveals that the quote is an 'Old Klingon Proverb' I remember the whole theater cracked up. He has us hooked from then on.

If Tarantino is a Star Trek fan, for sure he has imagined some scripts for a long time and has some great ideas for it.

Some of Tarantino's work is genius. Pulp Fiction is genius. Kill Bill is fucking perfect. I even have Deathproof in my top lists of favorite films.

I do agree sometimes that he totally missed the mark, and overplays his gimmicks with not enough substance to it. If he does Star Trek I hope he has a real story and vision to build with, and isn't just writing hard edged dialogue and tension to amuse himself. Hateful 8 sucked like that, he builds great scenes and tension and comic characters but at the end fuck there was nothing there.
