Looks like a different person. Still a tool, but a different tool

Looks like he traded all his steroids for meth.

I don’t understand steroids, does juice muscle really dissapear that quick? Once muscle is created why doesn’t it stay? Does the body eat it for fuel?

There is evidence for longterm steroid benefits after discontinuing.
However, the biggest answer to your question is that he is no longer in a highly anabolic environment (probably due to steroids but also no longer working out with some of the world's greatest sport science behind him) and he simply isn't eating enough to maintain the mass. He's a tall guy that was weighs around 265 when playing. He needs somewhere around 4500-5000 calories a day just to sustain that mass. Maybe more on really high output days. Otherwise energy out>energy in and use lose mass.
Lets drop his output and assume he works out here and there, but no longer at his NFL level. He needs 4000 calories a day now. But he's retired and only eating 3000...still a large amount. He'd be losing 2 lbs a week until he weighs around 220lbs, then stabilize. He might very well be 220 in that pic.

I reckon his doctors have suggested dropping weight to help ease his back and knee pain...Gronk's body has been beaten to shit

and he is also off the Juice

No juice
Lots of coke
Probably a massively reduced caloric intake
And lots of coke

Can’t imagine what explains this different body composition.....

Many thought he would return to the NFL this year in time for late season and playoffs
that photo pretty much says he isn't

The 250 lb Linebackers he has to Block would eat his ass up right now

Seriously he’s chached outta his mind
It's hilarious that people are speculating anything different.

The guy was known as a complete wildman party animal while being one of the best tight ends in league (maybe ever). The chances of his weight loss being anything other than coke are incredibly low.

My guess is it's a combination of lots of coke, not using steroids anymore, not working out anymore or nearly as much, and not eating as much as he used to/needed to. And lots of coke.

That's a good point. It's probably either coke, or lots of coke.
