PRIDE rules with elbows and the 10-5-5 in a boxing ring with the net on the bottom half.

Tbh, the new unified rules, despite not having been adopted by every state, are pretty good. They fixed the downed opponent rule and tightened up the rule on eye pokes.

I just think some referees need to be better versed in them so that we avoid a Mousasi-Weidman disaster.

with no options to strike a downed opponent besides punches I think it would create more LnP to be honest. Because once you have a guy down, getting active and creating distance to punch without it getting tangled up just opens you up to being sweep and subs. So what would be the incentive to do so when you can't knee, elbow or kick a downed opponent? If you just lay there under the unified rules and wrestlefuck a guy you will win the fight since the Unified has no yellow cards and points are almost NEVER taken away in the 10/9 scoring system.

Just my 2 cents...
No it would force the top opponents to strike/improve position or go for a sub.

As we get more informed judges the lay and pray tactic will go the way of the dodo... just like with the weidman situation is making fighters play the hands on the floor loophole.

Open's up the ground game.... less wrestlers staying in half guard and rabbit elbowing to stay active.

That's the reason why pride's grapplers were so interesting.
Then let's take away the jab too

One fifteen minute round. Important fights get a double overtime option. If the fight isn't finished in 15 minutes, it's a draw. If fight isn't over in 25 minutes, it's a draw.

No biting.
No eye gouging.
No fish hooking.
No groin shots.

Kicks/knees to a grounded opponent is encouraged

Headbutts, are encouraged

Fighters who finish and put on action packed fights advance further than one's who go to a draw with less action.

Always thought this " bare knuckle will reduce hand injuries " was dumb , its not as if there gonna throw love taps at each other because there not wearing gloves
It would cause most fighters to throw punches with open palms instead of fists

Says who ?? Fighting is fighting , only the very select few fighters would have the composure during a fight to think about injuring there hands
I really think a lot of this thinking has to do with Rogan waffling

If you motherfuckers had your way, we would never have witnessed the power and beauty of Keith Hackney's white tiger testicle destruction

there are plenty of fighters who's got weak ass hands, they'll stop punching after few breaks and most likely will use different strategy for their next fight especially if the broken hand costed them a loss

but I'm not in the favor of vale tudo rules, as a fan, it'll make the fights less pure but boring as hell.

in a cage
pride rules with elbows (including 12-6)
weight class for every 10 pound except the absolute weight class
10 minute round, then 5, no decision, only finish
if no finish, sudden death rounds,
each fighter can choose either only grappling or only striking
ref flips a coin to see who goes first
if still no finish occurs, becomes a draw

No rules at all, weapons and eye gouging allowed
Brass knuckles allowed
No refs
Ball strikes allowed
Hair pulling allowed
12 to 6 elbows allowed
Soccer kicks allowed
Knees to a downed opponent allowed
But no strikes to the spine, so, one rule but other than that let it go

That's how they used to do in Pancrase so I don't why fighters would just go and break their hands

In pancras yes but that was the rule set from the start , think it would be next to impossible the promote fighters to take on a pancreas style in modern mma ...... plus it would suck
