It's not just that alliance. It's the message it sends to all our other allies.
The Kurds helped us defeat ISIS. They were the boots on the ground when we couldn't commit thousands of soldiers to another war.
They're moderate Muslims. The SDF heavily promotes female units and women's rights in general.
And this is what we do to them. It really has to make our other allies rethink what their "partnership" with us means.

They're the same Kurds my friend. The so-called 'Syrian Kurds' have only resided in Syria since the 1930s and 40s when they arrived there as refugees. They all come from Anatolia and Iran originally.
And now they're showing the Syrian state that took them in what Kurdish gratitude looks like.

They are the same in a cultural and ethnic sense, but saying they're the same would be like saying I'm the same as a German.
Of course you're right. There are tribal, ethno-linguistic and religious differences. I meant the same as in non indigenous invaders and usurpers in Syria.
No need to feel guilty my friends. This 'betrayal' is straight from the playbook. The great powers always use the Kurds as their henchmen and then abandon them afterward. It has been so since the Battle of Chaldiran in 1514 and so it shall be again. The strongest empire is always their sponsor and always they are left on their own to answer for their actions.
