I want to add a bench grinder to my garage/work bench. Anyone have a recommendation?

Just a general purpose tool for me, not planning anything too heavy duty. I want something that I’ll use all 3 wheels: grinding, wire brush, and polishing.

I have a built-in work bench that can handle a grinder, but as far as throwing sparks it isn’t a good spot. I was thinking about having the grinder on a stand for convenience, but worry that it won’t be stable enough to lean into a little bit.

I also saw one (Ryobi i think) that had a grinding wheel in one side, and a belt sander on the other. I kind of like that idea, but I dunno. The belt sander would be useful sometimes, but it definitely won’t replace a full size (which I also do not have).

Thoughts men?
Get the dual purpose. Might not use it often but the price difference is negligible, and I'd rather have it at not need it than need it and not have it. Takes up minimum space and is a little more versatile than using a bulky belt sander on smaller project's.

You’re hitting on the exact points why I liked the dual purpose. Have you ever used on on a stand? I’ve only ever used a grinder that was bolted down. I suppose if the stand is heavy enough it’ll be fine.

I hate manufacturer stands, to be honest. I prefer to have shit mounted solid to my work surface.

There was a guy in high school we called “The Tool”. One time his girlfriend asked me why we call him “The Tool”, I felt bad and played it off like I didn’t know why. She said that he told her it was because “he was handy to have around in all types of situations”.
