About time.
look, I don't care a whole bunch

I am not an Alabama fan. I want to watch interesting games. play them in a baseball stadium, a race track, a naval ship, I do not care. good matchups matter more to me

if a neutral site means more big-name OOC games, then great. that is more valuable than playing at Duke or Wake Forest.

and cfb scheduling is dumb and limited because so much is done a decade in advance. under BCS rules undefeated mattered more than SoS. neutral site games made sense

with the playoffs SoS matters more, name brands matter more, and we are seeing all teams schedule more home and homes

and it is hard to schedule home and homes with big-time teams. uga had one scheduled with tOSU and then Urban showed up and nixed it. robbed UGA and tOSU fans of those two games. a lot of coaches are risk-averse and will avoid those games if they can.

I watch future tOSU ooc games religiously.
I don't ever remember seeing UGA on there.

Not saying it didn't happen. Just don't remember it being a thing.

and I am a UGA fan

so their OOC schedule the last 10+ years, and the next 10+ years, more than holds it own compared to damn near everyone in the country

if ranking just OOC regular-season games in that 20+ year period UGA would be in the top 3 probably. they play a P5 team in GaTech every year plus:

since 2008:
@ Arizona St
@ Oklahoma St
@ Colorado
v Boise St
@ Clemson
v Clemson
v UNC (neutral)
@ Notre Dame
v Notre Dame

scheduled future games
v UVA (neutral)
v Oregon (neutral)
@ Oklahoma
v Clemson (neutral)
@ UCLA
v UCLA
@FSU
@ Texas, v FSU (same season + GaTech)
v Texas, @ Clemson (same season + GaTech)
v Clemson
v Oklahoma

I'd put that OOC schedule against anyone in that same period of time

they blame the PAC 12, the rumor is Urban wanted out, but regardless they were set to play and tOSU decided not to. and it would be the next two seasons as well

and per that article it says the two conferences, big 10 and pac 12, have agreed to a certain number of games. ohio st said that is why they canceled a verbal agreement with uga. we all agree on that, right?

so you can see how maybe Alabama does have trouble finding teams to play? if no big 10 or pac 12 teams are available for X number of years that limits who is out there. teams can find one open date easier than two

even look at UGA's upcoming OOC schedule. 1, they play @ before hosting almost every time and 2, rare is it in back to back years. uga travels, then hosts a couple of years later. that is a sacrifice many teams won't make

Sounds like a conference thing.

I'd love an OSUvUGA game

I know the nature of sports is talking shit so I want to clarify when talking shit and serious talk

the scheduling stuff is hard. between the above example and florida saying they would play at UCF but only in exchange for 2 home games, and that is just what we see, you can hopefully see maybe teams were not lining up to play a home and home with alabama during that crazy run they had. and with how far in advanced games are scheduled. and alabama thought a neutral site game vs USCw in Texas was a better choice than a home and home vs wake. and teams are more open to a home and home now vs alabama since they don't think Saban will be around in 2029. and in 2012 no one wanted one vs alabama for 2016/2017

what fans want and what can actually happen, what coaches and ADs want, etc are two different things

and I am just using Wake as an example. I have never heard about any series between those two teams. I just picked a random, mediocre, p5 team. I could have easily picked Kansas. but I went to Wake last year and was blown away with how small and empty the stadium was (and this was vs Clemson, I assume their biggest home game of the season)
