it was about $$$$
nothing more

good decision IMO

the no defense strategy isn't gonna work in that division right now...especially if you don't have KO power

Nate Diaz has said goodbye to the fight game and is no longer interested in a rematch with his UFC 244 foe Jorge Masvidal.

Diaz returned to the Octagon from a three-year hiatus to fight Anthony Pettis at UFC 241. He won this fight via unanimous decision. Last weekend, Diaz went on to face Jorge Masvidal for the “BMF” belt in one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the year. In this fight, which headlined UFC 244, both fighters showed incredible heart and toughness, but Masvidal gave a stronger performance. The fight was stopped by the doctor at the end of the third round due to a cut above Diaz’s eye, leaving “Gamebred” to claim BMF gold.

Frustrated by the anti-climatic finish, Diaz immediately called for a rematch against Masvidal. On the contrary, UFC President Dana White admitted he had little interest in booking an immediate rematch between Masvidal and Diaz.

Diaz has never claimed the welterweight championship throne but has undoubtedly faced some of the toughest opponents in UFC history. The BMF contender has defeated Conor McGregor, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Michael Johnson, Gray Maynard, Jim Miller, to name a small few.

It is believed that the Stockton native walked away with a hefty paycheque for his BMF showdown. However, Diaz needs more than a financial incentive to fight again. In his recent Instagram post, he led fans to believe that he is leaving the fight game for good.

All of this from one tweet the likes of which he's sent out in the past? Calm down people, give it time. You know there is no talk of anything until he heals up and gets surgery (if he so chooses). Masvidal needs to get a title shot and milk his new found fame for at least a year or more so anything coming from either of them about a rematch is way speculative and not to be taken seriously.

Yep, that for sure.

Sports retirements are rarely to be taken seriously

Just means they need a break and time off

He can pick his fights right now. Take a break and pick somebody else that isn't so nasty.

Or attention! I'm sure he's asking for it and they're not keen on an immediate rematch so Nate starts bitching on Twitter. I recall CM doing the same thing a while back.

Book Nick vs Jorge.
this has the potential to be a huge fight. the return of a legend to fight the BMF who beat his little brother pretty much sells itself . i dont know if nick has the desire to fight for the ufc ever again though

So basically the same line as after every fight or any time he feels wronged? Got it.
Copy and paste. Rinse and repeat.
Will look forward to his next fight.

He's fighting being sober..

And losing 10-8

The UFC would be a No Contest.

If you had a time machine man, drop the Nick that went to war with Daley for 5 minutes into the cage with the Masvidal that just battered Nate.

Nick vs Masvidal would be a much better scrap , at any stage of their careers.

He's too busy getting hammered in the clubs and posting pictures of his dick on instagram to fight now though, plus the fucker is past his prime and out of practice big style.

Sad as it is to see a great scrapper like him waste the last of his fighting years drinking and partying, fuck it, he owes nobody anything, he got his GSP payday and that was all he ever wanted anyway.

Similar to Nate, can talk all the shit you want about " keeping it real " but its all about the dollar bills.

Anyway, I hope Nate doesn't follow down Nick's recent footsteps.
Both those guys need to get back on mountain bikes and quit hanging around with the devils they've surrounded themselves with.
