no thanks on the decriminalized hard drugs
Is what we are doing regarding them working now

Addiction is an illness that needs treatment not solitary confinement

Mexicans keep denying US help but Mexican law-enforcements are so corrupt, is probably the reason why they can't handle the problem on their own and for decades

hopefully some secret squirrel shit goes on behind back doors like when they took down Escobar

or give power to the Mexican people like the US with it's 2nd Amendment to fight the Cartels on their own

Hopefully we start knocking off mexicans with drones. Maybe we can report Papi Chingon @Papi Chingon is a mexican terrorist and have him sent to guantanamo bay for a decade

What's crazy is the status quo
yeah i agree . we need increased enforcement of existing laws and addicts should be sentenced to rehab and get mental health care. making it easier to do drugs is not the answer. make it harder to do drugs and easier to get off drugs

LoL - how did that work for alcohol? The addiction rate in the US hasn't changed for over 100 years. Writing words on paper and paying men in official hats to cage addicts is never ever going to work. It costs a shitload and doesn't change anything.

well i guess we miight as well buy them free heroin and give them endless welfare checks then . fuck the rules

but for real, there are other ways to deal with addiction besides poisoning junkies and locking them in boxes.

Yes there is but they also need to pay for the crimes they commit.being an addict doesnt excuse the theft and other junkie related crimes

So you want to spend $75k a year to lock up a junkie for stealing your kids bike?

Do you feel the same about all theft or just thieving junkies?

At what level of crime would you start punishing people?

Good question.

Many of us watch illegal streams of copyrighted material, is that any better than petty theft?

How about downloading torrents? Is that more acceptable than stealing a cd or dvd?

One has to weight the costs to society to before demanding we enforce certain laws to their maximum punishment.

Fair enough
You mentioned stealing a kids bike
What about stealing an adults bike that’s needed to get to work?
Or stealing your wife’s wedding ring?
Are those worth 75k a year?

A bike, no, I dont think that is worth jailing someone.

A wedding ring, potentially. In Canada, we up the punishment once the value hits $5,000. Theft under 5k and theft over 5k are two separate charges.
