David Petraeus: It is impossible to overstate the importance of this particular action. It is more significant than the killing of Osama bin Laden or even the death of [Islamic State leader Abu Bakr] al-Baghdadi. Suleimani was the architect and operational commander of the Iranian effort to solidify control of the so-called Shia crescent, stretching from Iran to Iraq through Syria into southern Lebanon. He is responsible for providing explosives, projectiles, and arms and other munitions that killed well over 600 American soldiers and many more of our coalition and Iraqi partners just in Iraq, as well as in many other countries such as Syria. So his death is of enormous significance.
The way I see it, this was a win. And it was also a message - We aren't putting up with this shit anymore so knock it off.

The brink of war is an excellent position for Trump to campaign from.this year. Watch this killing pay political dividends for Trump for months to come. Anyone standing against the commander in chief will come off as unpatriotic. Even the traditionally hostile media will fall into line.This could prove to be a political masterstroke.
It's a strategy that has been used many times in the past. I won't deny that.

What’s all this World War 3 talk all of a sudden?
I’m seeing more and more posters mentioning it ...I don’t follow the media or social media other then this forum ...
I’m guessing there is a big push on social/traditional media to get the people worked up and scared for World War 3 leading into the 2020 elections?
Note: IMO World War 3 started on 9/11/2001 ...since then the World has been turned upside down - we don’t think of it as a World War 3 because this massive all out Global War isn’t going down in a matter of months, instead it’s been a slow gradual takeover with many lives being lost
