Trump lacks any foresight whatsoever. It's pretty easy to see. He's a ticking time bomb who is only marginally controlled or limited by his advisers.

Probably the most dangerous President the US has had since Nixon.
Both sides have done their share to fuck America the “Republic” up that ass!

Both Bush Admins were pretty dangerous and harmed MURICA!

Clinton did his fair share to damage this country.

Obama the Socialst and his husband Michael chipped away at the foundation of America.

Wait, do you think that's how it was being reported by the Iranians? Burned down a guard house and busted a gate, no big deal?
how do you think the assassination of Soleimani and counter-strikes are being reported?
which do you think provides more grist for the propaganda mill? I mean, nobody in the Iraqi parliament was making symbolic votes to kick out the US after the embassy attack.

Assassination is an extremely misleading phrasing of what happened, and Soleimani death is being reported the same way anything America does is. "White devil, death to America" the only way to avoid that is to do nothing which we both know is the same as encouraging the behavior.

I think you're on the right track by saying that more selected targets would have been more pleasing to the international community. But what Iran did was coming whether they killed Soleimani or they impounded a taxi.

i don't like calling the killing of Soleimani an 'assassination' any more than I like calling what happened at the embassy 'an attack on US soil'...but by definition, it's the correct language.

but are you saying that launching missiles at US bases was the imminent threat? And if they were going to do it regardless of whether or not we killed Soleimani, why give them a moral or legal footing to carry out that attack? killing Soleimani basically put everything on the table for Iran...definitely in internal considerations, and also in the eyes of America's enemies.

I highly doubt this. I don't think they wanted to escalate the situation (at least not directly) in any way but Trump forced their hand

Well, if they're as serious as their threats (which I doubt they are) it would seem like a logical move to blow up some Westerners.
How many Americans were on the plane? And how many Iranians?

Seems presumptuous to assume the Iranian govt was involved imo.

Ali Abedzadeh, the head of Iran's civil aviation authority, said Iran would not give the black box to Boeing to analyze the data Abedzadeh also said he wasn't sure where Iran would send the box to analyze the data.

Data from the flight-tracking service FlightRadar 24 appeared to show the plane departing from Tehran, with communication being lost approximately three minutes later.

The Boeing 737-800 is the previous generation of the manufacturer's 737 family of jets.

The current generation, the 737 Max, has been grounded worldwide since last March following two fatal crashes caused by flawed flight-control software known as the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System.

"This is a tragic event and our heartfelt thoughts are with the crew, passengers, and their families," Boeing tweeted in a Wednesday statement. "We are in contact with our airline customer and stand by them in this difficult time. We are ready to assist in any way needed."

I don't understand my way around this obviously but the plane going completely off the radar before impact apparently would lead me to believe someone on board with a bomb and the pilots being silenced.

Kind of like this?
The 1953 Iranian coup d'état, known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup d'état (Persian: کودتای ۲۸ مرداد‎), was the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in favour of strengthening the monarchical rule of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi on 19 August 1953,[5] orchestrated by the United States (under the name TPAJAX Project[6] or "Operation Ajax") and the United Kingdom (under the name "Operation Boot").[7][8][9][10] It was the first covert action of the United States to overthrow a foreign government during peacetime.[11]

GOP Sen. Mike Lee RAGES at 'Insulting' Military Briefing on Iran Crisis: 'Probably the Worst' I've Ever Seen

Members of Congress were briefed today on Iran, and Senator Mike Lee (R- UT) wanted to make it clear to reporters afterwards that he was pissed off.

Lee erupted on what he called an “insulting and demeaning” briefing that he deemed “probably the worst briefing at least on a military issue I’ve seen.”

He said the briefing was the deciding factor in him coming around to support the War Powers Act resolution being pushed by Democratic colleague Tim Kaine.

Lee, flanked by Rand Paul, said, “We were told over and over again it was this action was necessary, this was a bad guy, we had to do it,’ and we can’t have division, we can’t have dissension within our ranks, within our government, or it sends the wrong signal to the Iranians. And I just think that’s completely wrong.”

Lee said the briefers were asked what would trigger the need for the White House to seek authorization for the use of military force from Congress. “At one point, I believe one of the briefers said something along the lines of, ‘I’m sure we could think of something.’ But they struggled to identify anything.”
