DefinitelyEvery citizen should be armed with the responsibility to protect themselves and not rely on others to protect them.
This is scary times we live in ...
It's a constitutional right. Why do you dipshits even need guns? Only people who should have guns in America are the police and the military. Anyone who says they need it is full of shit and just likes pretending to be Billy bad ass in front of the mirror
I'd love to see someone face off against a grizzly bear with a bow and arrow. And before you hunter queers start, use a bow and arrow are a knife, wimps.
To be fair, the Second Amendment was designed so groups of non military men could be raised against a foreign invasion (British really) and they would not rely on the government to provide arms. The days of that happening are long gone as are the days of being able to overthrow the government by force of militia. It’s kind of a weak argument since it doesn’t really apply anymore. It's a constitutional right.
The foundation of which this great country was founded.
Disarming citizens isn't the answer.
I agree with everything you said other than the gangsta rap stuff. Not sure how much of an influence that actually has. Feels like an easy out. Like blaming heavy metal music for suicides. To be fair, the Second Amendment was designed so groups of non military men could be raised against a foreign invasion (British really) and they would not rely on the government to provide arms. That being said, criminals aren’t going to follow the laws anyways and most gun restrictions only affect people that follow the law.
I think open carry is unnecessary and those that go shopping with a rifle on them do more harm than good, but CC should be available for anyone without mental issues or a history of violence.
Gun violence is an issue and a lot of it I’ll honestly say is due 80’s/90’s gangster rap/thug image and its glorification. Making it harder to legally have guns isn’t the answer.
The only reason why I can think of that has Dems so much for more gun legislation is it gives people a false sense of security. Funny enough, I might know more left leaning gun owners than right leaning.
Wahhh wahh you don't need guns. It's purely because you like them. It's a constitutional right.

They are pretty damn fun.Wahhh wahh you don't need guns. It's purely because you like them.
tell the Viet Cong and the Mujahadeen that you can't overthrow a superpower with small arms.To be fair, the Second Amendment was designed so groups of non military men could be raised against a foreign invasion (British really) and they would not rely on the government to provide arms. Music influences people. Seeing folks in mansions with sports cars talking about how they robbed and killed to get there made a lot of people think that was the path to take. It’s definitely a debatable topic.I agree with everything you said other than the gangsta rap stuff. Not sure how much of an influence that actually has. Feels like an easy out. It's the mass shootings that everyone is terrified of - and most of those guys are white loners with mental issues. Inner city gun violence is a HUGE problem, but that typically doesn't move the needle and isn't driving this bus. Nobody appears to care about that shit. Although the one bill dealing with bump stocks, high capacity mags and "assault weapons" was already struck from the record.
So what. It's an amendment. They should just amend it again to say civilian don't need gunstell the Viet Cong and the Mujahadeen that you can't overthrow a superpower with small arms.
the 2A states that since the government needs a militia to secure itself against foreign powers, the people should be equally armed to defend themselves against the State.
Aside from the pragmatic issue of getting 2/3 of the House and Senate, and 3/4 of the State legislatures, to ratify it, the Bill of Rights is a list of rights which every person is endowed with by their Creator, and which no legitimate government can violate. So what. They already changed it a bunch of times.Aside from the pragmatic issue of getting 2/3 of the House and Senate, and 3/4 of the State legislatures, to ratify it, the Bill of Rights is a list of rights which every person is endowed with by their Creator, and which no legitimate government can violate.
It does?tell the Viet Cong and the Mujahadeen that you can't overthrow a superpower with small arms.

Unless you want to try and make the case that in the 2A (and only in the 2A) 'the people' and 'the State' are the same entity. It does?
How many of those changes have affected the Bill of Rights? They already changed it a bunch of times.
