Hey all

This was WAY better than I expected.

This dude found a 4000 year old cuneifrom tablet that EXPLICITLY describes a story exactly as the story of Noah's Ark from the Hebrew bible, and the parallel tale of Gilgalmesh from even earlier.

What's more, the tablet describes IN DETAIL how to build the ark, the shape, length of rope, materials etc etc.

They gathered a team to build a scaled-down version of it, and tested it out.

Also, the dude is SUPER funny. One of the comments describes it "like monty python + archaeology." lol

I am most interested in this personally because I have become aware of an accumulating stack of evidence that the Great Flood story may indeed be factual.

Not only do we have multiple old stories of such an event (Noah's Ark, Epic of Gilgamesh, Plato's account of Atlantis, Native N & S American legends, etc etc)... but geology and archaeology is also repeatedly confirming the end of the ice age at approx 10,000BC, resulting in massive flooding and catastrophe.

The theory which continues to catch my attention is that civilized (perhaps even advanced) humans existed at that time, and were victims of the flood. (Destruction of Atlantis, water-erosion arguments around the Sphinx, underwater civilizations etc). But some survived, and of course would record and tell the tale. Hence these old legends.

Anyways great lecture, super smart and funny dude.

Enjoy:

Here is another theory re; Great Flood and destruction of ancient civilizations that I have recently stumbled on... also good food for thought imo:

That the RICHAT STRUCTURE ('Eye of the Sahara') could actually be the remains of Atlantis.

- it precisely fits Plato's description of Atlantis being made of 'centric circles of water and land', emptying out towards the Atlantic, and with mountains to the north
- it matches the general location of Atlantis according to maps of Herodotus etc
- located in Mauritania. In history of Mauritania, their old king was names Atlas
- from space you can totally see what looks to be evidence of a massive flood that just washed the whole area over out into the Atlantic Ocean.

description of Atlantis according to Plato:

concept art:

Eye of the Sahara was only discovered after seen from space. There is NO OTHER geological formation of its kind found anywhere on earth:

Looks like a massive flood washed over it:

Mountains to the north:

emptying toward the Atlantic:

Satellite images of what looks like massive mudslide/flood over the whole area washing out to the Atlantic:

I'm pretty sure the flood happened.
I'm putting it's remnants in my tank every day for about 3.89 a gallon.

"The underground waters stopped flowing, and the torrential rains from the sky were stopped"

From Antarctica to Iceland, the epicenter of fire & ice, in the shape of continents.
Coincidence I'm sure...

I assume you’re being facetious, and I think you know this, but fossil fuels were formed hundreds of millions of years ago (I.e. not concurrent with a recent great flood with respect to geologic time). Wazzup Carboniferous Period ;)

Nope, not being facetious.
Being a lifelong geology nut, I don't believe carbon dating.
I do believe the earth & its history at around 12,000 years.
I think the hydroplate theory is more likely.

Have you read a book called “the rocks don’t lie?” You may or may not be 100% in agreement with the author, but I think you may like the subject matter. It’s a geologist that investigates Noah’s flood, and he investigates all of the info he could find about a great flood (there are many similar flood stories from many different civilizations). Sometimes centuries old, he pulls from philosophers, theologians, and scientists from around the world.

I found it interesting, so just FYI if you’re interested too.

Cheers sparky

check out how massive the stones of Baalbek Lebanon are

would take two modern giant excavators to move them

Erik Apple- This shit blows my mind. They had to have a lot of tools that we dont know about

No way they cut those rocks so perfectly with stone chisels. And no way they rolled those giant stones on trees.

1000 tons

1650 tons

amazing undertaking

Lotta manpower and engineering to get these to the Temple of Jupiter

TheRoguewrestler - How advanced could they have been? They built structures out of cut rocks. Wasn't like they were some kind of alloy that would last throughout time.

pretty advanced actually...modern tech would have trouble shaping and fitting a wall this tight

let alone moving some of the larger stones

Spent some time researching in the Pacific specifically in Micronesia during the late 80’s...

Island called Pohnpei or “Pwn-ah-Pay” has Anchient Ruins called Non Matal

This is somewhat known to the majority of public - but there are a couple other islands that also have Anchient Ruins like the island of Kosrae and the Leluh Ruins and Anchient Buriel sites located at the center of the island buried deep into the mountains.

Locals say other very very islands use to exist but are under the sea - locals refuse to go near these spots where they say Anchient Islands exist deep under he ocean due to black majic and the fear that the spirits of old will haunt them.

How deep? Any divers get down there and poke around?

I was there in 89 and there were plenty of divers on the search back then so I can only imagine there have been some teams looking to discover the lost island between Chuuck and Kosrae since then.

But You may be more interested in locating the lost treasure of Bully Hayes believed to be buried somewhere on the Island (Kosrae) or near where his ship sunk off the coast.

(Bully buried 3 treasure chests - 1 was located by the Japanese who invaded the island in WW2, the other 2 have not been recovered yet.)

It ought to be easy enough, just gotta find a big X and start digging. Right?
