The joke

Your head
you obviously completely missed the corollary to 'automatic' and 'semi-automatic' weapons, especially when discussing "assault rifles" and the "assault weapons".

my joke was so far over your head, it can see your house from here.

News Outlets always talks about AR-15s as 'fully-automatic', but fully automatic rifles have been highly regulated since '86.
the AR-15 is auto-loading, which isn't much faster than a bolt-action (manual-shifting), when it comes to aimed fired.

so my joke was saying that 'fully-automatic' transmissions are really auto-'loading/shifting', and the only fully-automatic transmissions are the kind in jet-cars - which have been highly regulated since the 60s.

I'm pretty proud of the joke, so I don't mind explaining it.
for the 3 gun-nuts that got it - you're welcome.

Your completely (and not surprisingly) ignoring the context of both crimes. You're also ignoring that in one case you wanted the harshest form of justice available and in the other whatever the cops pick is good enough.
And you're making claims based off assumptions that lead your train of thought here. How are you so certain as to the motivation when all you have is a few media articles to based your statements off. The Jacksonville police department isn't even that confident, they have actually stated they have not yet determined a motive.

I said the man should be charged to the fullest extent of the law (with the current charges he is eligible for life in jail). Yet you're in some way upset that I disagree he should be put to death by the state? The law doesn't work if logic is ignored, calling for this clown to be charged with anything more than what he was charged with is an appeal to emotions and is a flaw in your logic.

The context doesn't matter when one person killed an innocent girl and the other guy assaulted some people. The law requires both intent and action (in the vast majority of instances) to fulfill the requirements of the criminal code (in Canada, as we are both Canadians). You keep screaming about this kids intent and pointed to a murderer in an attempt to make a comparison. Apples and killer oranges. As I said, we will have to agree to disagree.

I actually haven't done a single thing in your post. As usual, your bias is showing.

Not sure how I got that so wrong.

James Fields wasn't trying to undermine democracy.
I'm 99% sure Heather Heyers wasn't in a voter registration tent.
So do you think this person should be charged with treason and hanged?
Using violence to prevent voting is on the surface much more egregious than using violence to prevent protest.
Your completely (and not surprisingly) ignoring the context of both crimes.

Because you're reading statements and assuming they're value judgments rather than observations. It's hypocritical to want people from the "other side" brought up on the most serious charges possi keep, even if they don't fit, but not want the same when it's your team who's the problem.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The man who is accused of deliberately driving his van into a tent where voters were being registered by local Republicans told the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office his disapproval of President Donald Trump was a motivating factor, according to an unredacted arrest report obtained by News4Jax.

Gregory Timm, 27, was arrested hours after police said his van plowed through the tent, narrowly missing volunteers who were set up the parking lot of a Walmart Superstore at the corner of Atlantic and Kernan boulevards about 3:50 p.m. on Saturday. He’s accused of two counts of aggravated assault on a person over 65 years old, criminal mischief and driving without a license.

According to JSO investigators who tracked him down, Timm admitted to purposefully driving into the tent because “someone had to take a stand.”

Timm told investigators he saw the registration tent after he went to pick up food and cigarettes and a nearby Walmart, according to JSO.

He then showed investigators a video he recorded while driving towards the tent, according to JSO, but the video cut out before he hit the tent. According to the report, Timm said he was upset that the video ended before “the good part.”

Man driven by dislike of President Trump in GOP tent attack, report shows

I never called for Fields to face capital punishment so why would I be calling for this wack job to be hung?

For the 4th time, I clearly stated I think he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The disagreement comes in your interpretation of that statement while trying to inject appeals to emotion. The state cant hang this kid for aggravated assault and criminal mischief.

Did you not want Fields charged for terrorism? I know that you wanted Bisonnette charged with terrorism.

Fields and Bisonnette killed numerous people based of political and religious views.

Did I ask for either of them to be put to face the death sentence?

You’re trying so hard to paint a picture yet your mixing up all your colours.

Terrorism isn't contingent on people dying. This was also a political based attempt to kill a group of people.

I'm not saying this was terrorism or treason, I'm asking you for to display some consistency regardless the actors political views.

You’re trying so hard to paint me in a light that you want to you were making up facts and misstating things.

Where did I ever say Bissonnette or Feilds should face capital punishment?

Where did I ever say Bissonnette should be charged with terrorism?

From the Bissonnette thread:
Murder charges, attempted murder charges, weapons charges are a given. What is being investigated is, were these a hate crime or an act of terrorism, and if so, what additional charges should be laid.

I dont really think terrorism charges are necessary
I think the only inconsistent thing here is your logic.

I remember you and I disagreeing about whether or not it was a terrorist act. I didn't, now will I comb through 2 year old threads. I honestly don't care that much. But it's kind of ridiculous that you're pretending you're reaction between the 3 events hasn't been drastically different even thought they're more similar than they are different.
