I haven't. I need a good Bluetooth speaker but would probably opt for one that doesn't listen to me sing along.

There is that to it. And I resisted for a long time with these things.

There is a switch that just makes it a speaker.

Allegedly.

The thing is if you have a phone it's game over for that shit anyway.

This thing is twelve kgs heavy. It packs a serious punch.

I can guarantee this is as good as any entry level stuff.

They are cool, I'm just paranoid about those things. Fun to fight over who's the DJ when we're at my friend's house though. Only get through 20 seconds of a song before someone shouts a new one.

To be fair, I've been told many times that "An HDMI cable is an HDMI cable" only to see "cheapest I could find" HDMI cables not work at all, where more expensive ones did.

Meh

Seriously Jones never spend more than 8 dollars your price for a cable.

If it doesn't work then take it back.

A cable is a cable unless you are going stupid high end.

Especially if the bang bang crumble is out.

But it's depth surprised me.

My last good set up was bang and Olufsen.

Obviously that was better. But not 1400 better.

stupid high end is paying for things you can't perceive.

i'm talking about the guys who drop $3k for an anti-vibration turntable and $10k on speaker wires.
ya that is a no go for me
I have some spendy stuff but it was mostly passed down or purchased at estate sales

You can get amazing stuff at an affordable price and very few ears can tell the difference between quality sound and super crazy expensive sound...and those people had ancestors who mated with dogs so the DNA is all fucked up and they have dog's hearing and they lick their balls

I used to be able to detect the very fine nuances. I mean very fine.

But no one over 30 odd can hear the top. Its all about clarity and base for me now.

i've had several 'audiophiles' in an anechoic chamber, and no one has been able to tell the difference between a well-soldered jack on cable and $10k AudioQuest cables.

only one has actually said "damn, i wasted serious money on cables".
all the others rationalize it. It's like being an 'audiophile' is their identity.

$1,000 isn't entry level

It might not be high end but it is not entry level for the average consumer

I meant excluding soundbars. Proper sound systems are an investment. Cheapest option would be an all-in-one unit, but you're still looking at close to $500 for something half decent. Might as well spend a bit more for something that sounds better and can be upgraded as you see fit.

Amp, two bookshelf speakers, woofer = $637

i don't mean this as a dig at you, but that is by far the most common rationale.
Either they're older and could tell the difference when they put their system together, or the humidity or barometric pressure or flying in the last 24hrs is messing with their 'ear'.

No offence taken.

I've just been in edit suites that cost over a million pounds to put together. And I'm sure that's low end when it comes to film.

But at the end of the day no matter how much you finesse 95% of the end user isn't going to appreciate or hear it.

My jabras and Google max do the job better than stuff that cost me thousands years ago.

Technology moves on.

If you had a thousand to spend I'd say get a b and o sound bar for 1800. If you have that then get....

It's kind of limitless.

The average person on here would be blown away by the Google max.

It's impressive imo. And cheap for the sound. And you can pair them.

I’m quite lucky.

Since I moved into my Brexit house I can ping that fucker as high as I want.

It’s funny though. I never have. My nephew came round when I wasn’t here and obviously turned it up to 100 but because he didn’t have the app on his phone and because he couldn’t shout loud enough GOOGLE STOP it just kept playing.

Lesson learnt.

It’s a powerful speaker F Dogg

Don’t be a cunt.

Just because you don’t understand doesn’t mean you don’t take an interest

I may not understand it I look.

I have no interest in learning the nuances of HDMI cables. I have in the past had issues with very cheap ones, slightly more expensive ones have always been fine. It's not worth my time to have to spend an hour returning a cable in order to save a few bucks.

p.s. This is the last time I'm going to ask you politely to be more courteous with the way you address myself and others.

My bad.

You might want to lay off the booze, you seem to come unhinged really quickly.
