Does this mean if a pitcher comes into the game when it's 3-0 his team is up, if he gives up 2 hits, he can't be taken out the game until he pitches to the 3rd batter?
Correct.
Unless he fakes an injury.

It's a significant change to the game.

this is huge. This along with DH in the NL will take a lot of strategy away from the game.
The DH definitely removes strategy.

The new pitching rule doesn't really remove strategy, it just changes it. LOOGYs will only be used at the end of innings. I also think teams will attack relief pitchers to gain an advantage late in games. If a LH pitcher is subbed into a game to face a LH slugger, that gives the opposing manager 2 opportunities to pinch hit RH batters in the next 2 ABs and there isn't anything they can do about it.

It definitely changes the game.

Dusty Baker is pleading with the league to protect his players. Many pitchers have openly discussed their willingness to throw at Astros players when they face them this season.

Dodgers pitcher Ross Stripling was nearly dealt to the Angels last week, and they happen to open the season against the Astros. Admitting intent is sort of taboo in baseball, but when asked he said "Ah...That's a good question. Would I do it? I would lean towards yes. In the right time and the right place. Maybe I give up two runs the inning before and I got some anger going. Who knows? But, yeah, it would certainly be on my mind.”

Reds righty Trevor Bauer said he was "not going to let them forget the fact that they are hypocrites, they are cheaters”

Indians righty Mike Clevinger said Houston hitters “shouldn’t be comfortable” in the batter's box next year.

It's going to be a very interesting season. Each team will be looking to get some revenge on not only the actions of the Astros but also their pathetic apologies. There will be plenty of letter-high 4 seamers heading their way this year. It will be interesting to see if they take their lumps as they should, or if they fight back and retaliate.

Dusty Baker: MLB needs to stop talk of retaliation against Astros

I hope Houston breaks the record for most players hit by pitch in a season.

I think they will.

How it progresses after that depends largely on them. If they take their lumps it will likely be squashed by the most of the league, although NY and CLE will likely want to get their own revenge regardless of how things transpire before their seasonal matchups. But even then - the Astros need to expect it and take their lumps.

If they start barking or having their pitchers retaliate or - at worst - start charging the mound after taking one in the back? It's gonna go on all season long. Baseball has a way of policing itself - and their transgressions will be dealt with.

Astros just hired the biggest crybaby manager as well.

This is how you punish a team for cheating.

Since MLB isn't doing this... Every player on the Astros should be hit by pitch. Including the pitchers.
To my understanding this is an apples to oranges comparison. The general management for Man City fibbed about sponsorship money which, correct me if I'm wrong the reported revenue allows teams to spend more on players. This gives an unfair advantage when it comes to money you can spend.

Don't punish the players. Punish the team by fining them(which they did) and taking away draft picks or ability to sign free agents for a couple years.

Astros players cheated and they should be punished individually.

But they were instead granted immunity providing they admitted to what went down.

MLB has handled this horribly.

LaRussa was such a bitch.

Wah wah wahhhhh. He was the biggest fucking baby. Constantly complaining. Then his players followed suit.
He would never even consider managing a shitty team. I can see why you are jealous

Brett Gardner has a stalker.

Source: Yankees’ Brett Gardner says stalker is terrorizing his family in new court filing

TAMPA — An obsessed Yankees fan who calls herself Brett Gardner’s “future wife” has “stalked, harassed and menaced my family and me,” the outfielder said in documents filed in court Tuesday in a petition for an order of protection against her.

The fan, Gina Devasahayam, shot back in a separate filing.

Devasahayam, who has claimed that Gardner sends her “sexual” signals when he plays, alleged that Gardner has attacked her mental stability. She says she wants the court battle to go away so that they can have children together.

They have never even met.

“The defendants are also delaying my biological clock for my pregnancy as I would like to start this process immediately,” Devasahayam, 46, told the court.

Gardner declined comment on the matter Tuesday at George M. Steinbrenner Field — the Yankees’ spring training home — where security guards have been given Devasahayam’s photo with orders not to allow her in the gates or near Gardner. Yankees position players reported to spring training on Monday and worked out for the first time Tuesday.

Gardner’s attorney, Stanley Schlein, didn’t return a message NJ Advance Media left at his office.

Devasahayam is suing Gardner, Major League Baseball and the Yankees in Bronx civll court to lift her ban from Yankee Stadium and to give her clubhouse access. Devasahayam said MLB has called her a “threat” and “delusional” and wants her banned from all ballparks.

Gardner seeks an order of protection that would keep Devasahayam 500 feet away from him and his family, Yankee Stadium and all major-league stadiums. In Tuesday’s filing, Gardner said Devasahayam won’t stop calling and emailing him. He said her lawsuit is a “deluded” attempt at contacting him.

Devasahayam “believes she knows me personally and maintains some sort of amorous relationship with me,” Gardner told the court. “This is not true.”

In addition to having a family with Gardner, Devasahayam wants child support from him. She said she plans to move from the Baltimore area to Long Island to “plan a family with Brett.” Devasahayam, who said she has a Ph.D and is a biotech entrepreneur, wants unspecified millions of dollars from MLB and the Yankees.

In an interview last week with NJ Advance Media, Devasahayam said that Gardner’s marriage is “not of importance” to her.

In August, security kicked her out of Camden Yards in Baltimore for nearly accessing the Yankees’ clubhouse to see Gardner. The next day, she was removed from the stadium when she tried to enter, and she was booted from Yankee Stadium when she tried to attend Game 5 of the American League Championship Series against the Astros on Oct. 17.

The next day, she filed her strange and often rambling lawsuit, which also claims that MLB has stolen her intellectual property. In a document supporting the suit, she said MLB has portrayed her as a “deranged rambling woman on the loose” and that she was a “threat to order and safety” and calls an affidavit that Gardner filed “lies.”

Her obsession with Gardner started in October 2015. Devasahayam said she first emailed then-Yankees manager Joe Girardi to tell him of her interest in Gardner. “I was fascinated by him,” she told NJ Advance Media. Subsequently, she said, sent Gardner “a love letter.”

Devasahayam added that she was arrested in 2003 for trespassing in the house of an ex-lover and that in 2004 she underwent court-ordered psychological therapy. In 2012, a judge dismissed a lawsuit Devasahayam filed against a University of Virginia professor for sexual harassment.

Devasahayam’s Twitter account is filled with references to Gardner, who said he doesn’t operate any social media accounts.
