Finally got to watch it, kept the sound off. Hooker edged round 1, but it was close. I think Felder has a habit of snapping his head back to avoid punches, which is good to avoid punches, but some of the ones he avoided looked like he got nailed and had his head snapped back for him. A couple of the punches I couldn't really tell if he took them or not. Imo whenever they showed Felder from behind, it looked bad for him even when he wasn't getting hit.
Felder took round 2. Again, these are two fast strikers and people have to remember not to really score missed and blocked strikes, but I can see that it may have been tough in the moment live.
Hooker took 3. It was when his face started showing damage, but Felder seemed to stop seeing the lefts coming at him, and Hooker clearly took deliberate advantage of that.
Felder definitely took 4. However, he grabbed the fence. Looked like at least twice.
Felder edged him out in 5 on damage. Also grabbed the fence again briefly, but didn't look like it affected the fight as much. Also whiffed on a few that may have looked like they landed from a different angle because of the way Hooker avoided them, but still took the round imo.
Tough one. Must have been tough to score live. But a lot of fighters question continuing to take damage to the head if they're not getting paid much. Felder made $110,000 that night, less his fight camp cost and taxes, probably not much compared to what he can make if he keeps all his faculties and his family time. It can be really tough to be injured while you have a little one you want to spend time with. I think he's a great fighter and I would enjoy seeing him compete again, but I am totally cool with him giving it up.
