Here's my Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in .45/70 Govt (hands down favorite gun I've ever owned...and I've had a shit ton.) and my Ruger Blackhawk in .45LC (my hiking and hunting back up)

I hand load all the ammo for these two, I run 405gr fp lead at about 1600 fps 90% of the time, I'll run it up to 1900-2000fps for shits and giggles but it becomes un-fun to shoot at that point and an ineffective speed for lead out of this gun. More isn't always better.

In the Ruger I generally run 255gr fp lead at about 1450fps for at and above 44mag #'s

I run a Montana sling on the lever gun. And carry the Blackhawk in a custom made Mernickle rig.

This is my everyday go to...if you see me, these are always at hand. Kahr CT9 9mm. It's a single stack with a slim profile, so easy to conceal and I'm still getting the benefit of a 4" barrel. I've carried everything from a Sig 220 on down to a NAA 22mag., and for me this is a perfect compromise. I've always been a big bore guy. I have probably thrown at least 50,000 230 gr. .45acp rounds downrange but I've really fell in love with the 9mm for concealed carry. This past year I transitioned to the Kahr from a HK VP9. I shoot the Kahr as good or better to 20 yds...and it's night and day for ease of carry. I carry in a Desantis Iwb rig, with a versacarry mag carrier, and my 4" Cold Steel Voyager is always in my pocket...imo the absolute toughest/baddest $30 folder available.

I run 124 Gr. +P Federal Hydra-Shok as my carry round. Probably going to transition to bonded ammo at some point...but I have a bunch of old stock Hydra-shok I've hoarded for the last decade :D The price on the 20 rd. boxes is $7.25...miss those days.

I've got a few more, but we ain't going to be posting those

I'm good with what I have, don't plan on buying anything else..........well, except if I find a great deal on a 10mm 1911. o_O
Nice man, I also have a Ruger Blackhawk but it's a .357. Great gun, very fun to shoot.

And I don't have one myself, but I bought that exact cold steel knife for all of my groomsman at my wedding. They all loved them. I kind of want to order one for me now lol

I love my Cold Steel, the Tri-Ad lock is the best in the business. You can find many superior knives but imo you can't find a better, stronger knife for the money. If you desire a better steel for the blade, you could also look at the Recon 1 folder with U.S. Made Carpenter CTS XHP alloy blade steel. You can find it online for under $100

That being said, I love the voyager for everyday carry, because I don't have to worry about losing it or damaging it as the cost is reasonable. Been carrying the same one for right at two years...its visually a little worn but still functions flawlessly...still locks up tight as ever. Hope to carry it for many more years.

Yeah, that cartridge is stupid, but I reload which keeps cost way down. Me and two of my buddies ordered 3 matching rifles last year from SHOT Show.

Own one handgun chambered for a bottleneck case and you'll never own another.
Yeah, watching this with as little recoil as it shows, it sure seems like it'd be popular.
Except the FN is a little weird, safety and slide lock are kinda reversed.
And it's round & ugly like Rosie O'Donnell.

The big problem with it is that ammo is expensive and a nightmare to reload. So putting in adequate practice isn't really practical.

Anyone have experience building AR's

Got a complete lower made.

But having trouble deciding on an Upper.

What Caliber.
556 or 300 Blackout

And what length.

10.5 , 11.5 , or 16.

I'm looking for a range toy that can go into my home defense rotation.

Hear really good things about the 11.5.

Jack of trades.

And 556 since it's relatively cheap to play/practice with.

And has good options for rounds.

What say you TMMAC Gunners?

I'm biased.
Maybe try Rock River 5.56 upper.
Performance is perfecto.
But they don't like steel ammo.
