I didn't get the whole terroir discussion until I tried a wine from my home state. Growing up as a kid there, getting in the mud, grass, bushes, etc...when I opened the bottle and smelled the wine it just took be back and it finally clicked.

I'm amazed by the tops somms that can analyze it down to the year, region,etc..

Well here's another thing.

I am definitely not an expert.

But I can taste a Hungarian white and tell you if the vines were grown on a volcanic shelf.

Hungarian white is the best white.

There are some new Zealand ones that comes close. And guess what. The vines touch volcanic earth.

If you ever get a chance to try Hungarian white you are in for a treat

I don't have the time to spoon feed a person with the attention span of a child.

The video was a somm, being able to give us a country, region, varietal and year, just from drinking, what does that have to do with class?

It seems you are insecure and projecting again. Please stop, it's tiresome.

Probably a non taster, 1 in 4 people literally have no taste, some people can taste an onion being cut from 2 streets over.

I don't think being a super taster actually helps in becoming a sommelier but if you are a non taster you will never be able to become one.
