Have you guys been on the site www.beltchecker.com ? Awesome social media site/forum for members of the BJJ community. I just signed up on it, and I saw that Star-Lord @Star-Lord is on it too (as well as a batch of other people I know).... Make like Eddie Bravo and look into it

He repeatedly took him down in less than a minute, that is impressive regardless of it being wrestling, bjj or mma.
I personally don't find straight takedowns that impressive, especially with drastic skill levels. Which is why I asked for clarity, is this the expectation for an impressive win in wrestling?

Getting a tech win in wrestling is considered dominating, however, because I believe Pat accrued a few points just for (almost sumo style) pushing Gordon out of the ring area, it does seem a bit meh to me. The two suplexes netted him 4 points each (throwing him and ending up in the top position), and the push outs a few more. I believe (and ECC170 @ECC170 or Shinkicker @Shinkicker because of her son may be able to expertly speak to this), if you get up to 10 points without your opponent scoring, they give to a technical victory (seems like the mercy rule).

He suplexed him ,got a push and gut wrenched him 3x exposing his back 3x.. this is freestyle as opposed to folkstyle..FS is in the Olympics and better imho than folk which is college style.. i'm a wrestler and this is what we called getting dogwalked.. He's right lasting 20 minutes in a sub grappling match is far more impressive than being teched in 20 seconds..Gordon is a all time great submisson grappler but he had no business on the wrestling mat especially saying he beats pat in straight wrestling..Wrestling is 1 of the only sports 99.9% of any athletes that never wrestled can come over and hold their own as opposed to wrestlers going into other grappling arts and holding their own.. respect to Gordon though..But when there's no subs he's got no chance vs high level wrestlers in that rule set

Oh no doubt about it, Pat was playing 4D chess and Gordon was playing checkers there

Nevermind.

Santos has pulled out and Musumeci is back to looking for a new opponent who’s willing to wager $10,000 of their own money against him, regardless of what weight-class they might fight at.
Nevermind....again. It is happening.

BJJ Stars announced a match between Duarte and Meregali at their next event. Between this one and the Davies/Basilio rematch this will be a show worth checking out.

Third Coast Grappling held a tag team grappling match now they've announced that they’ll be holding a “3CG Grapple Royale” in mid-March. As the name implies, the event will be a “last man standing” format, with ten grapplers (all blue belts for this edition) drawing numbers randomly to decide who goes in when. Numbers one and two will be the first in, and every minute, the timer will go off and another competitor will enter. Athletes who tap out will depart the mats, and the ultra-match will rage until there’s just one competitor left unsubmitted.

I enjoy grappling and pro wrestling but I don't know that they need to be combined. I guess if it brings new eyes it can't hurt?

that's the mentality killing NASCAR. They made a bunch of changes to their format as they grew in popularity, trying to mimic the season/playoff format of other pro sports leagues. Now that those 'hipster' fans are moving on to the next sport, the game that remains doesn't appeal to their base anymore.
