This is based on my uneducated opinion since I never watched a full 80's Lakers/Celtics game much less anything from earlier times and I basically stopped watching the NBA at all around 2007/08.

However rewatching 90's NBA gives me a warm feeling remembering the times when I had nothing more important to do than wait for a sports game at night and the games are badass. The Bulls were basically a 3-men team (you could say a 1-man team) but Jordan was ridiculous and everybody else played the exact role that was needed for the team to win. The only chance of not getting destroyed was if you played nice with MJ and was lucky enough to have him have a bad night against you.

I watched an interview with Isiah Rider telling a priceless story. He was with the Timberwolves in Kevin Garnett's rookie year and he was outplaying Jordan (like scoring 24 to Jordan's 18) and the Wolves were winning by like ~13 points at the start of the fourth quarter. A timeout was called and they were walking towards the bench and MJ was standing beside Rider and KG started shoutin "He has nothing on you man! He can't deal with you! Go get him! You're the man" and Rider started motioning with his head like "Stop it man" and KG kept going. At some point Rider turned to Jordan and said all embarassed "He's just a rookie, he doesn't know the rules of the game" and Jordan said nothing.

By the end of the game Jordan had scored 30+ points, Rider had the same 24 and the Bulls won.

The 2017-2018 Warriors sweep all six of the 90s Bulls teams
wtf Jordan eats them alive. just the sight of Curry looking stupid with that mouthguard would trigger Jordan to 50+ points. plus it wouldn't even be fair because Steve Kerr would tell his teammates about all of the Warriors strategies.

Jordan would be crying and hugging his teddy bear instead of a basketball while this song plays in the background:

If they played by the rules of 90's (when it was a real sport), the Bulls would easily sweep them. Curry would average a couple of points per game, but be pretty much useless. He disappears during playoff games with the sissified rules of today. He would get man handled if they allowed 90's contact. The Warriors would have a slightly better chance if they played by the pussy rules of today, but the Bulls still win. They were long at the defensive end and they had Jordan.

The Bulls are the best team of all time. They would win in any era. The Warriors, not so much. Seems like we have already covered this in the past.

I just saw this interview last week. It is truly awesome.

Agree 100%

Was fun to watch great team chemistry.

YouTube: Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf vs Bulls sometime....
cool, great game. I didn’t remember the existence of Abdul-Rauf, when I saw your post I thought of Shareef Abdur-Rahim. That Nuggets team shouldn’t be so bad with Mutombo-McDyess-Rauf.

Other good stories include Jordan talking with opponents from the free throw line saying “watch this” then he would shoot with his eyes closed and hit it;

in a pre-season game that he was supposed to play only a couple minutes he had like 2 pts and a rookie Reggie Miller was putting a huge effort and getting the better off of him, winning by 16 pts at the 3rd quarter and said something to him. He turned to the bench and said “leave me in” and finished with 30+ pts and Reggie Miller didn’t score no more. At the end of the game Jordan said “don’t ever talk to me” and Reggie Miller never talked to him again;

Steve Kerr was a rookie with the Phoenix Suns sitting on the bench and Jordan had the ball and looked at him and said “watch this” and just proceeded to dunk over the head of Dan Majerle like it was nothing.

Agree 100% they had a solid squad at one point..

It was so frustrating to watch, I blamed Coach Bernie Bickerstaff - never thought he was a great coach ...for some reason the Nuggets were hell bent on getting the ball to Lophonso Ellis and Bryant stith over and over again and they consistently turned the ball over and simply missed shots.

Had they based their offense around Rauf and McDyess they could have at least made the playoffs some of those years.

Rauf was an absolute beast and fun to watch / had some great ball handling and such a quick release ...he got black balled from the NBA for not standing during the National Anthem ...religion/politics aside he was a great player.

Couple years ago Phil Jackson made this tweet in regards to Rauf that set the basketball world in a frenzy...

if jordan would have been called for palming/carrying and travelling he would have been nothing but another good player. disgusting what he was able to get away with.
