But I hear you, we don’t qualify for anything other than a slight increase in our child benefit kickback... and a butt load of tax debt to be paid off over the next few decades.
I guess the timing of your little one's arrival worked out well.

If this is administered correctly, I could support it.

Trudeau also said students who volunteer over the summer will be paid between $1,000 and $5,000, depending on the hours they work.
Create work and make these students earn some experience for the money as opposed to just giving it to them.

This, not so much....
The Prime Minister's Office also confirmed that a student can collect multiple benefits if, for example, they apply for the $1,250 benefit, volunteer and hold a job that pays less than $1,000 a month.
Bullshit that our taxes are paying a 'student' up to $9,800 between May and August as long as they do some volunteer work.
($1250x4 $ $5000)

You don’t need to have lost any income.

I was answering you facetiously because I figured you were speaking in generalities.

I was actually wondering how this affected you, as you would definitely be an essential service in the grand scheme of things but not allowed to work in your office as normal?

We try to minimize traffic into the office and out of office interactions but that only does so much. To get shit done, you have to interact with the public in this work... and unfortunately, it is likely that population that is least likely to be following safety guidelines.

Just remember that I am the most essential because I’m allowed to get up in anyone’s grill

The more I look at it... the more it looks like a good time to return to school and complete a masters.

-$4800 ($1250 per month) to those attending post secondary in September
-Students are eligible for CERB ($2000 per month) if they earned $5000 this year
-Increased Federal student grants to $6,000 per year.
-Increased maximum amounts for Federal student loans.
-Up to $5,000 for students to volunteer over the summer with an agency that works with those impacted by COVID.

One could really game these funds to get a few years of schooling dirt cheap.

Or one could get a job!!!

Provinces will decide when to reopen their economies, Trudeau says
"We recognize that different provinces will make different decisions about how and where to start re-starting and re-opening their economies," Trudeau said Wednesday.

Conservatives blast MP who asked whether top pandemic doctor 'works for China' as Scheer steers clear
Scheer refuses to comment on Derek Sloan's words, says it's up to him to explain them
Derek Sloan, an MP from eastern Ontario who is running to lead his party under the slogan "Conservative - Without Apology," posted a message and video on Facebook and Twitter this week claiming that Dr. Theresa Tam had "failed Canadians."

"Dr. Tam must go! Canada must remain sovereign over decisions. The UN, the WHO, and Chinese Communist propaganda must never again have a say over Canada's public health!" he wrote.

"Does [Tam] work for Canada or for China?" Sloan asks in a tweeted video. He also accused the country's top doctor of parroting lines from the World Health Organization (WHO) after it repeated "misinformation" disseminated by the communist Chinese government.

Fuck if only sheer wasn’t such a goof eh? He’d be PM
I mean, Sloan has no chance anyways and is just trying to be edgy. But we know that the China lied to the WHO, we know the WHO passed the info along without vetting it because funding, Tam has rountinely cited that she's going off WHO info, and refuses to acknowledge that WHO info might be wrong, even the mask fiasco of a couple weeks ago.

Tam is proof that you could pass all those exams and graduate from med school, you're still a tool eg no judgment at all
Or you could be a Chinese agent.

So whats the deal with the military heading to care homes out east?

Medical care? Screening? Lack of workers?

I believe it's all of the above. A lot of military has some sort of medical training, so they're going in as back up.

Justin Trudeau admits failure to uphold French language during pandemic

Canada PM blames unilingual labelling on ‘extreme situation’

Francophones decry ‘dangerous’ and ‘disrespectful’ move

French has become a collateral victim of the coronavirus pandemic in Canada, forcing the prime minister, Justin Trudeau, to defend failures to uphold laws requiring labels and services in both official languages.

Canada is officially bilingual, but the government has allowed the sale of imported disinfectants labelled only in English because of “the extreme situation in which we find ourselves”, Trudeau said on Tuesday.

“In certain situations, we are ready to allow unilingual signage and labelling,” he said.

“But we would certainly prefer that this not happen because our linguistic duality is not just a question of our Canadian identity, it’s also a question of safety for consumers.”

The move has outraged representatives of Canada’s francophone minority, who called it “dangerous” and “disrespectful” to those who had fought hard over the centuries to preserve their mother tongue.
