Joke writes itselfI listened to the 1965 All Star game last night .
Were you reminiscing about your early 20s?I listened to the 1965 All Star game last night while doing some work around the house.
The NL squad was stacked.
Willie Mays, Pete Rose, Ernie Banks, Hank Aaron, Willie Stargell.
Hell, Roberto Clemente and Frank Robinson came off the bench and didn't get in until the 6th or 7th inning.
Joe Torre hit a HR.
Bob Gibson struck out 2 guys in the 9th with the tying run on 2nd to finish off the game.
One thing that really stood out was the pitcher's stats. Guys had records like 14-6 with 12 complete games at the break. The way pitchers are utilized has changed so much through the years.
Out of those guys, the only ones I remember watching in person are Pete Rose and Willie Stargell. Were you reminiscing about your early 20s?
