Disney Resetting Star Wars; Erasing Last Jedi

Disney Resetting Star Wars; Erasing Last Jedi

A new rumor has hit the net offering that some sort of Disney Star Wars reset is in the works that will see Force Awakens, Last Jedi, and Skywalker basically erased.
The rumor comes from the "future ruler of Earth," the Doomcock Overlord DVD YouTube channel, who recently offered that a Star Wars "civil war" is happening at Lucasfilm between Kathleen Kennedy and Jon Favreau.
Doomock also previously provided those Skywalker spoilers, and prior to Marvel Studios announcing a new director and writing team on the Captain Marvel sequel, said there were all kinds of problems at Marvel with Brie Larson and Captain Marvel (interestingly enough, Feige is now going with Elizabeth Olsen and Scarlet Witch).

I just can't see them doing it so soon. It's a no for me.

Doomcock. He dresses up like Dr. Doom hails from the middle of the earth where he plans to become the future ruler of earth with his pet Cthulhu Harvey. He does reviews and commentary.

It would be somewhat nice if they did do this though.

Sounds like somebody who hates the movies just wants them erased and is grasping at straws.

The franchise isn't dead at all, it's everywhere. The new movies were more successful than episodes 1,2 and 3. And Star Wars didn't die after them either.

But let's say they would do that, then what? Create alternative movies? Sounds like a fanservice - fantasy but nothing more.
They can still milk these movies and don't wanna miss out on that. I really can't see em doing this.

At most I can see em moving away from the characters, which is fine.
The Star Wars universe gives so much room for good stories to be told. Focus on that and hopefully make some good stuff.

Maybe but they won't stop selling sw toys with bb, Ray etc anytime soon. They won't discredit this massive investment that still rakes in a lot of cash and replace it imo.
If they want to they might move on tho.

I think it has to do with expectations a lot.
I can't say I'm the biggest sw fan, but since my father is/was, I was reading sw novels from an early age, even before seing the old movies. My view on the characters and universe etc stem from those novels mostly.

The episode movies were terrible and I learnt my lesson and didn't expect anything from the new ones, hence I just let it happen without the need for it to be "right".
To my surprise I did enjoy the movies more or less, without caring about any canon, character depiction, or timeline.
I didn't like rogue one and solo tho.

I think that's a fair assessment. For me, I really enjoy big epic stories told through multiple movies, when these ones didn't stick with canon it ruined that aspect for me. As stand alone movies they were enjoyable though.
