It actually does, or else you get kicked out of the union.Being for unions doesn't mean that you are you have to subscribe to every position of "leadership"

do we know for a fact he spends literally all day on youtube?Month and a half late and a dollar short just doesn't have the same ring to it.
You'd think a guy like OP who spends all his downtime watching YouTube videos would have seen this by now
Yes they should be able to quit whenever but in a lot of jobs you hold the first paycheck as insurance for not giving two weeks notice...i think thats fairThat's not what I asked. Do you think an employee should be able to quit whenever they want, for whatever reason they want?
Do you want more government than we have now or less?
Um no thats not true at all...lol if that were true there wouldn't be any unionsIt actually does, or else you get kicked out of the union.
It's why unions have largely gone away and the ones that remain are just extensions of political parties.Um no thats not true at all...lol if that were true there wouldn't be any unions
So if someone can quit whenever they want, disrupting the business and potentially effecting other individuals, that's OK, but a company should not be able to do the same?Yes they should be able to quit whenever but in a lot of jobs you hold the first paycheck as insurance for not giving two weeks notice...i think thats fair
Some portions of government need to shrink and others expanded so youll have to be more specific
I'm just curious if you do or not.Why would it matter?
Yes its managements job to hire enough people and prepare for contingencySo if someone can quit whenever they want, disrupting the business and potentially effecting other individuals, that's OK, but a company should not be able to do the same?
Holding the first paycheck is bullshit, if someone does work, you pay them for it, irregardless of if they give notice or not.
Yes ive been a memeber of multiple unions and will be againI'm just curious if you do or not.
Here I'll go first, I do not, have never, and will never have a union job.
Just like it's someone's job to manage their personal finances and be prepared to be without income coming in for a period of time.Yes its managements job to hire enough people and prepare for contingency
Have you tried speaking out against Union things you disagree with?Yes ive been a memeber of multiple unions and will be again
Yea that analogy fails horriblyJust like it's someone's job to manage their personal finances and be prepared to be without income coming in for a period of time.
The local unions ive been a part of have focused on contractual issues and things like abortion, free speech, taxes etc are not relevant to pay raises, discipline, time off and suchHave you tried speaking out against Union things you disagree with?
RockbottomNot sure what the proper WWF name is, but I would have ran at him in a full sprint and wrapped my arm around his neck and slammed him backwards on the floor. How 'bout dat.
Is that because you don't like it?Yea that analogy fails horribly
So that's a no.The local unions ive been a part of have focused on contractual issues and things like abortion, free speech, taxes etc are not relevant to pay raises, discipline, time off and such
Yes the national leadership gets involved in such things but i dont believe in throwing the baby out with the bathwater
No the two situations are not analogousIs that because you don't like it?
Its not an issue on the local levelSo that's a no.
It's the same situation with the roles literally reversed....No the two situations are not analogous
I find that to be insane. Its not an issue on the local level
Im advocating a nationalized union with local chapters for all workers that focuses on job related problems and leaves periphery issues to general elections
that's insane !!!
