I'm hearing they're looking at Chandler/Ferguson. Any thoughts on that MMAHAWK @MMAHAWK ?
I love the fight
But it seems DP and Ferg have united in fighting each other and getting paid. Tony wasn’t happy with Dana’s snub of DP. We’ll see what happens.
I’d like Chandler vs Oliveira

That's an interesting fight. I'm always conflicted when it comes to how the UFC introduces guys. As a fan, that's always concerned about fighter shelf life and want to see guys thrown to the wolves immediately. Of course Gaethje's career trajectory has been a lot better than Askren's so there's that.

You mentioned his age earlier.
I’d like to see him get the Eddie Alvarez treatment. Fight all top 10 guys, he’ll probably have a similar record. Many UFC fans will call him overrated but MMA fans will get the best fights he has remaining and know his legacy.

As someone who was just about to type "I want to see him in the top 5 immediately." I then gave a glance at the oh, so valuable UFC rankings and for some reason I'd really like to see him fight Kevin Lee.

Brock Treatment?
No USADA tests for months before fighting
I was wondering the same thing. How is that supposed to work normally?

Sign with the UFC, and then have to be in the testing pool for 4-6 months before you can get a fight booked?

unless they want you to fight sooner...

Assuming they book him soon, I wonder if he’ll be tested at all.

are all fighters now USADA tested before/after a fight? IIRC they only used to test some of the fighters on fight night.

I started thinking about it and guys are fighting offthe contender series on days notice in the ufc lately.

Apparently
A new fighter signed is now only 1 month
There is a clause that says no tests if late replacement fight.
if you retire and come back it’s 6 months

so if Khabib pulls out, then do they fight for an interim championship? and then if Gaethje wins again, is he the interim interim champ?

Gaethje defends his interim belt or they strip Khabib and go undisputed title.

I understand why this is happening but I don’t agree with it. There are better options.

Chandler vs Felder or Hooker would not only be an amazing fight, but, it would also show how chandler will handle himself in the big show.

Probably because of all the times Tony vs Khabib has already fell through.
well, yo make a good point there!

had my blinders on I guess trying to forget all those letdowns hah, but Tony or Dustin deserve that spot more than Chandler. And that’s not to take anything away from him. But he should have a “welcome to UFC” fight before he gets a (potential) crack at the title. Lots of good matchups for Chandler. I think it was BeardOfKnowledge @ConorMcGregorsBeard that mentioned it, but Kevin Lee could be a fun first fight for him.

Could I see a list of guys who won titles in those organizations and then went on to win non-interim UFC titles? I don't think it'll take all day. Off the top of my head I've got Shogun and Rockhold.
Rampage Jackson, Anderson Silva, Daniel Cormier, Eddie Alvarez, Robbie Lawler, Jose Aldo, Chris Cyborg, minotauro noguerra all came from other organizations and won ufc gold

I beleive of that list only Alvarez and Aldo had gold before coming over. Big Nog only won an interim title.

Thats not true about nog though, because frank mir beat him for the real belt, then randy couture shows up after being gone a year, and they give him his belt right back that he had when he left so they can market it as a championship fight, all of a sudden the belt mir is holding is an interm belt when days before it was the heavyweight championship? Revisionist history.

Nog won the interim from Tim Sylvia, then lost it to Frank Mir and that's the end of his UFC title story.

Also Benson Henderson had the WEC title before losing it to Pettis, then went on to be one of the longest reigning lightweight Champs in ufc history.
