Let's go back to the riots though. When the country was burning up all at once (no doubt orchestrated) there were calls for abolishing police and burning the system down. There are still people wanting the system to crash. Among them is the squad, and numerous elected leaders/public officials. What system are we talking about here? The american system. They say it's racist to it's core and needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Our history is being erased by the day. No more statues or anything historical can remain. If this is not treason, then what is?
No one is forcing anyone to love our history, but when we have leaders openly saying the system needs to burn, and actively dismantling it, there's no more clear cut case. Not sure how much more obvious it can be. It's like them saying "I am a traitor" and the deniers saying, yeah but that's not illegal to say that since we have free speech (given to us by a so called antiquated document that needs to be replaced btw).

100 years is key. The present number came into being only in the aftermath of the civil war a little less than a century into the birth of the republic and had already changed several times previously. The number means little. It's arbitrary. Imo, the main issue is SCOTUS shouldn't be lifetime.
