I'm not demanding him, or anyone else stay muted. I'm suggesting that people talk to one another like they would if they were face to face with them. That was supposed to be what the TOS was based on when we made it as a community all those years ago.
@George Thoros would taunt any of us with "muh ballots" in real life I'm sure.
And I get what you're saying but the forum goes through ebbs and flows. There are times that we have moderating heavier and all that has happened is people complain that we are censoring them too much.
When two posters get going at each other, and both want to blow some steam off, we let it go because both have essentially consented for that. I suspect that's how they would talk to each other in real life btw.
We are only attempting to intervene when things are going too far or bring others into (racism etc) or interfering with the rest of the form (endless e beef that just won't stop polluting the next thread).
Today will be full of fireworks and hopefully things will cool off over the next couple months as it always does.
And with that said, crowd sourcing moderating so that I'm not king, but just a server technician has always been the goal so I really mean it when I say I understand your point and appreciate it.
Just know people need to blow some steam off some times and when we have stopped that in the past for immediate TOS, it has only lead to longer drawn out resentment and lack of resolution between parties.
People want to hash shit out sometimes.
