Is that when you burn the wood using a microwave transformer to get the "lightning" effect? If so, I saw a vid on that a while back, very cool. Please post pics of the results you are getting.
i've just been watching videos, thinking of doing it for a tabletop in the RV.

this guy has tedious videos, but you get the idea. I'd be doing it on plywood, then filling the burns with colored epoxy and a clear epoxy over everything. It's still in the thinkin stage. But I've seen other people do stuff with epoxy in a syringe, I think that'd be a better solution.

I don't think it would look as good with plywood

Not sure the burns would have that same pattern

very cool though, good luck

it would be on high quality hardwood...I think birch plywood as even layer thickness, IIRC. But it'd be a good excuse to get a vac-bag and make my own laminate know-what-im-sayin.

That sounds good, I don't know anything about high quality plywood

I wonder if the glue/binder would ignite? be careful

i worked with High Voltage transformers and power supplies in the USAF (high power amps and satellite antenna motors), and I was a bit of a Tesla hobbyist when I was doing my Physics degree.

i'm in awe that 'fractal wood burning' as it's practiced on YouTube isn't a charred stack of burned and disfigured bodies.

people are fucking morons. No interlocks, no shields, no HV cables, nails for electrodes, used transformers from microwave ovens...Natural Selection just hasn't been paying attention, I guess.

Well the ones that incinerate themselves don't upload the video afterwards, maybe those videos that are uploaded represent the surviving 10%?

can't find a good picture, but this the FSC-78B antenna I used to work on. On the platform above the guy in the pic is usually a boom arm with a lift 4X2X2 metal basket that you use to haul up motor parts. For going away parties, we'd tape the person up, throw them in the basket, run it up to the top, and blast them with hoses. Overseas, the Fire Dept would bring over a truck and get in on it.

Guy I know does that type of word burning. He uses a welder and a couple of nails. I hate epoxy right now. Shit is messy and never looks like I want it to. I have to wait for it to dry a d then I can wet sand it. Final pic will be in my woodworking topic. Tomorrow maybe.87DFAC8E-423D-4CEE-8A51-38857C143C58.png

I've been down so many YT rabbit holes over the past few months.

But somehow I became hooked on those stupid and pointless reaction videos, mostly by black people who pretend that they've never seen Bohemian Rhapsody before, or Led Zep or AC/DC. There's a couple of black chicks that I follow, fuck knows why, it makes no sense to me. It's predictable and mostly fake, but I still watch if it's a song I like.

But recently I found this Angel, this gift sent from Heaven to react to 80's rock, and I'm hooked. Fuck the black chicks, I finally got myself a white womanz.

Today, I have ended up watching brake test videos.

This is the test for the brakes on the Airbus A380, simulating an emergency stop after an overweight landing. OK so the wheels might be slightly on fire, but it stops the damn plane!

View: https://youtu.be/qew09gao3S8?t=15

Then there's the testing of the 3D printed titanium brake calipers of the Bugatti Chiron, braking from 380 kph to 80 kph (236 mph to 50 mph) three times in quick succession. The brake disk reaches over 1000 Celsius (about 1830 Fahrenheit).

Oh, and this is the kind of thing that happens if you try any of that shit with a standard brake disk:

pretty trippy that an arc lighter can reach 2012 degrees and people carry it in their pocket usually made by chinese companies that is hotter than these tests.

"How Harley-Davidson Killed Itself"

I have absolutely no interest in motorbikes, but Youtube told me to watch this little 15 minute doco this Canadian motorbike geek made. And it's really good. He looks like he's a 14 year old JRPG nerd, but he's a proper biker and he's really good at making documentaries. It's fair and balanced, neither a hatchet job nor a HD promo. Lots of good info, an interesting piece of Americana with a good dose of cultural history, and the guy is really good at anticipating the question you're going to ask, and then answering it for you.

In fact he's so good that I will never, ever buy or even ride a motorbike, but I've watched half a dozen of this guy's vids telling me what to check for, what to beware of, what questions to ask the seller, and which pieces of extra equipment is shit and which are worthwhile.

The Jeremy bamber case
Guy is doing a life sentence for allegedly killing his parents, but I’ve watched many vids and can’t see how he did it.

lots of manufacturered evidence by the police, including pictures that ended up in court versus the first pictures taken at the scene which are very different amongst other bullshit.

imo, the guy was convicted via cop corruption because of some higher up fixing the case.

this case wouldn’t have convicted him on a US courtroom and everyone knows the uk “authorities” were corrupt back then...and still are btw
