How's this ESPN deal working out for you, MMA fans? Including the event that just happened, here are four UFC co-mains that we just have or about to witness in a row:

Maycee Barber vs Alexa Grasso
Ketlen Veira vs Yana Kunitskaya
Marion Reneau vs Macy Chiasson
Amanda Nunes vs Megan Anderson

This is getting out of control. These cards are as deep as a puddle of piss. We are getting WMMA fights - and not even 'good' WMMA fights - being sold as marquee fights on every card.

We need that little midget fuck Joe Silva back to save us from this shit.

They booked Barber in the co-main because she was one of the rare female fighters with a high finish ratio. And what happened? That's right, she lost a fairly lackluster decision.

I would get canceled for this if I were a celebrity, but the fact is that women just can't fight as well as men can. It's not even close honestly.

With the right training and technique, they would be able to overcome their smaller stature and dog shit technique. I truly believe that a woman, with the right training and technique, could take less than the 3 fucking minutes Polyana Viana took to get a tap after locking in a triangle choke.

But said woman either doesn't exist or, if she does, isn't fighting in the UFC.

I don't have a problem with people watching WMMA or WMMA even being on UFC cards, even if I am personally not interested.

The issue is presenting these fights as being better and more important than top-ranked male fights. It completely degrades the product the whole way through if you do this all the time.

A big part of the problem is the gyms themselves. They handle female fighters with kid gloves and the result is a sport where there's been basically no growth since Ronda.

I think the problem is the exact opposite. Women are trained by men to fight like men, but someday we'll get women who fight a little differently, more than likely. I still think 115 has some of the best fights I've ever seen in the sport in terms of entertainment value, even though the technique sometimes looks like it's from around UFC 35. We're going to need to go through a whole generation of high level WMMA fighters who have fought regularly and had high quality training. We'll have women coaches who can strategize based on experience and whose fighters are paid enough that they can truly devote the time and discipline it takes to mastering all of the dimensions of MMA. At this point we're still mostly dealing with women who did other sports so they're usually good at about one and a half things rather than decent at everything and great at one or two. There are exceptions like Amanda and Rose and a few others who are true all rounders, but there just hasn't been enough money or time put into WMMA for it to be consistently great. I still believe it deserves much more credit than most of this forum gives it. I would take the technique at Women's 115 over any heavyweight fight I've seen in the last 5 years besides Stipe/DC.

This is easily one of the most retarded comments I’ve ever read on here. WMMA is light years beyond where it was since Ronda. Not even a question.

The 2 weight champion is the woman who last beat her. The first woman who first beat her is still hovering around the title in every divison. The women's divison is stagnant.

But do you actually believe that wmma has not evolved since Ronda? I’m genuinely curious, because if you say, “No”, my guess is you don’t understand martial arts at all.

No, i don’t think that is the case here. Your initial comment says that there “has basically been no growth since Ronda. This is absolutely wrong. It has grown immensely both in technique and skill as well as promoting women. If you remember what it was like say 6 or 7 years ago, the only women’s fights being talked about Rondas. This is not the case anymore.

If that were true the people who dethroned Ronda wouldn't still be relevant. If Miesha Tate came back today she'd be an immediate contender that does not speak to a division that has seen significant growth. The striking is horrifically sloppy, the combinations rarely exceed a basic 1-2 and the takedowns are like watching kids fight on a playground. Can you dig up a handful of exceptions where something was executed well? I'm sure you can, but that's not indicative of where the divison is.

Well yeah it's worked well for the WNBA, right?

Jk. You might be right.
