History on Fire was good, albeit and obvious poor man's version of HH. I say 'was' because it went behind a paywall a while back though. It might have come back out, but I have no idea when it became pay for play I unsubscribed.
Mike Duncan's 'History of Rome' is an outstanding 170-something part series. Runs from the beginning of the city state to, I think, about 500 AD. It's a point to point non-narrative history, but the detail is great and the host is amenable. Episodes are 15-20 minutes long, so it being 170 episodes long isn't quite as crazy as it sounds.
It probably goes without saying, but if you haven't also listened to "Hardcore History: Addendum" those are great, non-sequitur compliments to the bigger HH podcast.

Honestly, I’ve been out of touch with podcasts. For the most part, I’ve been on a podcast hiatus for the past year or two. I got fatigued trying to keep up with too many. I’ve been nerding out more on YouTube, although the same issue you mention is prevalent there as well. But there is still some good stuff out there. Lately I’ve been working through the Napoleonic Wars and Napoleons Marshals series on the Epic History TV channel on YouTube. They also have series on Alexander, WW1, history of Russia, etc.If you've got any recommendations feel free to send them my way. I'm sure
I think they do a good job with their videos, and I like the way they graphically show how battles went. I think people with more history knowledge could argue that some of the information is incomplete (but not erroneous), but I think part of their goal is to make shorter and more digestible videos.
I’d classify it as much greater than History Channel garbage, but they don’t go as deep into the material as a Dan Carlin type would go. It’s a happy medium for me, and I do find the videos entertaining.
