Damn could they find bigger guys for Johnson and Alvarez to fight. Adriano moraes is pretty slick everywhere but DJ is a hell of a challenge for the one fc champion.

Alvarez is fighting a rd 1 killer and it should be good while it lasts. Iuri is a very violent man and it should a great fight. I'm usually not into ONE FC but these fights have peaked my interests

I think the pay was probably similar but he could grab big XBOX sponsorships and other goodies at ONE FC to make up the difference

Probably a better move for DJ. I'd still love to see him fight figuerdo

Only 4 actual MMA fights? And they want to make their big break through in the west? Lmao, mixing muay thai, kickboxing and MMA every event isn't gonna work, their old CEO Victor Cui was a fantastic entrepenour that helped ONE FC get mainstream traction in the west by signing certain western fighters and making freak show matchups.
Sidyontong is much more focused on building up locally, which in hindsight was smart in terms of the big gates they had in Asia, problem is they can't do any gates anymore because of covid, so they get on TNT and will now try to carter to the western market with a bunch of asian stars + mighty and Alvarez. Even PFL will make them look bad imo.

I'll still watch but a over the hill Alvarez and Mighty mouse isn't that impressive.

I wont act like I know much about them behind the scenes but I think breaking into the us market is good for them. We are dumb enough to "buy" a hypothetical PPV from them that they would air for free in asia. The way we "buy" ufc ppvs while it's free in alot of places like england on BT sports

Adding in muay thai fights will only further confuse the boomers watching mma on TNT. But more fights for me so I'll never complain

I very much agree, hardcore fans is for sure gonna watch it, but the problem is the muay thai fights and the local asian talent wont pull in a big casual audience, I just dont think they will have the mega success that everyone has propelled the company to at this point.

I hope I'm wrong, I hope they do 10 homeruns with this show and everyones leaves impressed, but with only 4 fights it's hard to impress the large casual MMA crowd.

If it's only from a hardcore fan perspective ONE FC is great, but you gotta be able to pull that casual audience, just like the PFL has by signing sorta big stars the last couple of months, nobody knows who tf Lance Palmer is, but most people know Anthony Pettis and will surely only tune in to watch him fight.

It’s Muay Thai with mma gloves. If ONE focuses on the legit killers they have I don’t see why the average stand and bang fan wouldn’t appreciate it. Just seems to me whenever Bellator or Glory got any eyes on their product it always would lay an egg.

I just think some casual would be like "see look, these chinese guys dont like wrasslin either" and think hes watching mma. It would be awesome to be in that room

I had a physical therapist tell me he was a muay thai black belt and quit competing after he got choked out in his last match lol. He was a buff college looking kid and had no idea what he was talking about. I was there for bjj shoulder injuries and hes talking about chokes in MT fights haha

Why do they keep the techno on while speaking? I can literally barely hear them, I understand they are going for a high energy look, but this just completely sucks, holy fuck the production qualities are sinking like the titanic.
