Will the public have transparent visibility to tips that have been collected for each fighter/event, as well as when they are collected by the fighter?

What happens to the gratuity collected if the fighter doesn’t sign up?

Yes, the the total amount of tips, as well as the top 3 tippers for each fighter will be displayed on the app! I attached a picture of the interface below.

Hopefully the fighters will collect their tips but if not, they will be given back to fans through special giveaways/events (TBD) or they will be given to lesser-known fighters, categorized by their popularity/engagement metrics.202135944_4261079283915439_7103699621575457605_n.jpg

this is fun, so you'll take money on the understanding that it will go to the fighters. but no promises! if the fighters don't want to engage with your platform, the money will get given out to drunk asshole fans to promote your site. quality that you can suggest this with a straight face. I could never be such a brutal piss-taker LMAO

as someone with money to burn, do you get to see in advance if the fighter is signed up to your site? or do you take your chances and hope the money will be shaved down by you and passed to the fighter... rather than shaved down by you and then fucking squandered lol

but if you fix that and say who's signed up, you have to publicly accept that not all fighters have. and possibly not a high proportion of each card.

also tax. fuck me. if you two make money off it, that will be taxable. surely as a transaction, sending the money to the fighter will give rise to taxable earnings.

we send the money
you take a cut
taxman takes a cut
fighter gets the rest

what percentage of tips will end up getting through to those who do sign up?

I donated money to this site once when I was drunk. Can I write it off as a charity? I don't wanna go to jail here, it was over 20 dolllars

The management team is still making a decision on what we should do with uncollected tips.

The original idea we had was to make a pool with those tips and distribute those to lesser known fighters.

Any ideas?

Seems like the most obvious option would be for your company to only accept tips for fighters who have registered with your platform. You could also accept tips for non-registered fighters as long as your list of registered fighters is publicly visible and any of those tips collected would be returned to the user who gave the tip within “x” period of time (ex. 3 months). Anything short of the money going back to the person who spent it would be perceived as sketchy by the vast majority of users, IMO.

Invest it all in cryptocurrency. Loads of dipshits here did that and they are all multi millionaires now.

Thank you, this seems like a good option, we were thinking about this as well.

The unfair payment of MMA fighters has long been an issue in the MMA community - most recently highlighted by Sarah “Too Sweet” Alpar, who had to launch a GoFundMe in order to train full-time for her upcoming UFC fight.

The answer to this is tipping, just as we do for content creators. TapStats is the world’s first platform that allows fans to tip athletes directly as the action happens.

Be among the first CORE MMA community to send a tip on the very first day it goes live. Only MMA insiders have been invited so they can get a special place in the history of our sport

On July 10th, the first version of our app will be on the app store. Feel free to try it (sign up using the link below) and let us know what you think. We’ll be adding more exciting features in the upcoming months, stay tuned!

I can't wait until tomorrow. finally the opportunity to put my money out into the internet, where the hopes and dreams of young fighters, and app designers, come true.

maybe the cash will go to the fighter I select. but in reality, I'm making the donation with a high probability that it will be spent on big macs and tinsel. whatever. I literally don't care. just take my money.

The app actually sounds cool - it lets you tap to count strikes yourself.

I think this is especially good for bettors like when a high roller tips the croupier.

But they don't say what kind of fee they take. They must say it somewhere before you pay, but I didn't see it in the ad. Shady
We will not be taking a 5% platform fee anymore! Big news!

So you are doing this out of your good heart and free will? Amazing if it's true, but sadly it's hard to prove, who says you wont be taking a percentage from the sponsor fees.

Also "tip policies are subject to change". well who says that the platform fee isn't subject to change either?

I'll try to be positive, but you guys went from 10-5-0 % real quick, without even stating how the fighters can ensure their payments + I haven't seen a single fighter promote your company on IG or any other social media, all I've seen is a bunch of forum posts and no real support from the fighters. I understand that it's just starting up now, but dont get mad at people when they are accusing you of a quick cash grab, when you launched the app right before the biggest event of the year and at a point where fighter pay is one of the most discussed issues of the sport.

It screams fishy.
