Of course all good, didn't mean to jimmie rustle on this dead horse of a topic...I should have known better

For clarity...

MSM fueled the divide for 4 years is all I'm saying
IMO they are the ones who effectively weaponized individuals and groups, you and I included(even if we don't realize it)

It continues to this day

The real leaders that have the people's interests in mind don't get any coverage and don't get anywhere near office, and don't get any votes...due to our MSM.
Guys like Ron Paul was killing debates and high in polls...MSM cropped him out of images of said debates and left him completely off of reporting of polls regardless of how well he did. Effectively cutting his campaign's legs off while falsely building the followings of other candidates.

Of course who we get are people that are completely compromised and corrupted, that is often why they are pushed into running. Clints, Bushes, Obamas, Bidens, Trumps, etc...

This is a system is broke thing IMO.

System pushed all of those pieces of shit into office and the system keeps them there(lifelong corrupt politicians)

Most effective tool of the System is the Media...Media is telling this story/narrative...Believe them at your own risk

That is my take

How about that..

Facebook executives weren't happy when their own data showed it perpetuates a right-wing echo chamber
  • Facebook's best-performing pages in the US are often entirely right-wing publications.
  • The data demonstrating as much comes from Facebook's own measurement tool, CrowdTangle.

Can you point me to a genuine narrative example where the 'msm' has lied to you?

I accept there has been mistakes. A tiny amount almost inestimable though. Considering the amount of output.

Showing me something they say that is true that you disagree with doesn't count btw.

And you can leave Fox out of this too. They have admitted in court that the shit they say is so stupid no one with a brain can legitimately believe what they say.

I look forward to seeing your evidence.

The Washington Post printed an admission that their "Find the fraud" quote was erroneous. That report fueled a lot of public opinion in the months it was out in the public sphere.

I'm also sure we'd all agree that the media's reporting of covid has been at the very least irresponsible. Don't know about the U.K. but here the government will lie and the media will print it as fact without questioning them. So even though they're not fabricating the story, it's still a lie by most people's standards.

There's a teenager in Kentucky who is now pretty much set for life when he got settlements from CNN and the like because they completely made up a story about what happened in DC between high school students and a Native American.

Why? Because it fit the narrative they wanted to push.

Being concise is not the same as being cryptic. It's a complete charade for you to pretend to be unaware of the FBI's history, particularly in light of your earlier reference to McCarthy.

You had your answer before you even asked the question and I have no interest in taking part in your theater.
So the FBI has a history of chicanery, including during the McCarthy era seventy years ago, and because of that........ what?

"If the president told them to stand down it would million percent be public knowledge."

"How so? He tried to do lots of illegal shit that hasn't become public knowledge....... yet."

"Past performance."

Mate, that's not a reply. That's just nothing at all. You made a blanket statement and provided absolutely no evidence to back it. I gave you a reasonable, non-personal challenge that is factually accurate, and you essentially blanked it completely and then immediately got pissy when I pointed out that "past performance" is not a reply.

What's your point? That because long-dead J Edgar Hoover hated MLK Jr and tried to blackmail him more than half a century ago and now we know about it, therefore it follows that we now know everything about Trump's interactions with the FBI last year? Is that what you're saying? Who knows? Is this an example of you engaging in good faith discussion?

So we have 3 well documented and apologised for stories out of the literally hundred of thousands of news articles, news vts over the spread of those errors.

I work in the news industry and I promise you. You won't last very long if you keep lying (Fox News is the outlier here, although their actual defence is that no one should believe what they say as it's so made up you would have to incredibly stupid to believe them) it's also harder to not report the truth as you would have to make stuff up.

The Fake News narrative that has been drummed into your heads every day all day by Trump and the Republicans cuts through because it's easier to believe what you want to believe instead of actual facts.

Trump lied to your faces day after day. Hour after hour and you still believe his bullshit over verified sources? It's nuts.

I have a problem with how Covid is being reported over here too. It's far too supine to the government and it's stats. It's lazy journalism. But it's not lying journalism.

EDIT. The Washington Post is more semantics than outright lying but it did use incorrect quotes and therefore was rightly apologised for. Trumps efforts to overturn the election was an abuse of President authority so the actual news wasn't 'fake' the quotes were.

It's not so much the lies, although that happens. It's the blatant bias that is incredibly irritating and dangerous. Facts might not be made up, but they are definitely overlooked or purposefully omitted if it doesn't "fit" the story they are trying to tell.

There are very few credible news sources to be found.

To your point, not that long ago there was a expectation that the media would report the whole truth and that the idea of only printing half of it was lying. But we've entered bizarro world where semantic definitions have trumped integrity. Ie, "I lied, but it was a good lie."

And what about the outlets that are nonstop lies - a business model built on lying, in many cases - and which the "fake news" crowd relies? Just look at the absolute garbage that sparkuri @sparkuri posts day in, day out. Just delusional fantasy that is disconnected from any objective reality. The alternative media is FAR worse for lying than the likes of CNN or MSNBC are. And of course, Fox out and out lies constantly, and none of these "fake news!" people care about that even a little bit, for some reason.

Do you know about the Fairness Doctrine? What it was, who killed it, and what the immediate effect was?

How many fake stories and lies are you looking for? If we posted 100? 500? 1000? How many to admit that the media is full of corrupt shills?

Part of this is because there are very few news segments anymore and mostly the things that get talked about and promoted the most are the opinion shows. Whether it's Maddow or Tucker or Cuomo or Cavuto or Hannity... They are opinion shows that are presented as the news. The few actual news segments that are ran on the networks are generally pretty good and relatively free from bias. The volume on the bias is turned down at least. But for every half hour of news there's 6 hours of screaming infants making things up as they go and they're not beholden to facts because it's all just opinions and talking points. Those are the shows that sell advertising because that's what people tune in for. And it's a bummer. Because what's being called out as fake news isn't even really news. It's millionaires making shit up as they go and basing it loosely on facts to fit the story they are trying to tell.
