Just got back from brunch at a new goose restaurant. The skin was incredible, the meat was lacking. 4.30 USD, no tip, no tax.

The best thing is a neighbor showed up at the same time. Old guy, 75, we talked for an hour about life in hk and china during 70s and 80s

it was very similar to beijing duck.

the skin almost taste like bacon.

and everyone know bacon taste good.

but the highlight was the conversation with the old guy.

he described the desolate conditions of china at the time, and how his family escaped to hong kong in the bottom of a fishing boat.

we talked about travel,US presidents, hong kong, women, retirement, ... we were in agreement with almost everything.

the main ageement was retirement in the Philippines. long term visa and cost of living. i was suprised he knew about the visa issue for americans

Just finished dinner at an incrediblely local place. Basically someones house. I couldn't take photos without feeling to invasive.

Chatted with the boss, the husband, about 35 ? years old.

We used Google translate app.

Ask who was his favorite Chinese president.

Mao was his answer.

Why?
