I don't get how I predicted this but the experts and planners didn't?

I can't be that smart, and they can't be that dumb. What's left? My prognostication was no miracle, just the natural conclusion from what I observed.

The people deeply involved in it, who observed it far more closely every day, couldn't see it coming, really??

This kind of shit is baffling to me.

you forgot to factor in profit incentive and the power to effect the upward transfer of wealth.

try working through it again and I bet it makes sense.

I can't quite work out how a financially disastrous withdrawal puts more money in pockets than had been expended from them, but that's wealth for you.

it's financially disastrous for you and me, because our wealth was transferred. But you can only sell so many Humvees and AR15s in Afghanistan before everyone has two of each. You can only blow up so many "strongholds" before you're reduced to blowing up schools that are serving as hospitals because you think a military age male might be there...you can only shoot so many unarmed farmers before everyone knows an unarmed farmer you shot.

the Afghan market was saturated, so we're going to start another war somewhere else real soon, and get right back to blowing up "strongholds", selling rifles, and shooting unarmed farmers. When it gets too expensive to send war overseas, they'll bring it home.

'She failed the country': Fox News host explains why Afghanistan is Jill Biden's fault
"I'm sorry, as a political spouse, I can't help but look at Jill Biden," she continued. "No one knew better his state of mind than Dr. Jill Biden."

Campos-Duffy added: "And if you ask me, the most patriotic thing Jill Biden could have done was tell her husband [Joe Biden] -- to love her husband and not let him run in this mental state that he's in. I think she failed the country as well."

MMAHAWK @MMAHAWK They didn't contract Southwest because the mad rush for good seating on a military cargo plane is basically the same thing.

Commercial planes from the US will be used to help with the movement of people evacuated from Afghanistan, the Pentagon has announced.

A spokesman for the US Department of Defense said on Sunday that 18 aircraft - from companies including United, American Airlines and Delta - would not fly into Kabul directly.

Instead, they will transport people who have already been taken out of Afghanistan and are travelling on to third countries.

No major impact is expected on commercial flights, the spokesman said.

So far, more than a dozen countries have agreed to act as transit points for American military flights evacuating US and other nationals from the Afghan capital.

that's what Michael Malice said on Twitter...I just want the same weapons I paid for the Taliban to have.
... who? And don't say Michael Malice, already know that.

Anyways, facetious. It's silly to expect that whatever our tax moneys pay for, we should all get a piece of.

Trump would have done zero proactively that someone else didn't do for him.
He is the one that negotiated pushed peace accord without the Afghan government present on multiple occasions.
His previous moves in Syria show a willingness to pull out consequences of the immediate be damned.
He was openly and actively against refugees from Syria so there's no reason to believe he would have had a major humanitarian solution for the Afghans.
He set a public date for total withdrawal.

The only thing Trump might have done is with the Pentagon wanting the 2500 troops he might have capitulated where Biden apparently did not, but I think that's generous when we saw similar recommendations with Turkey, Syria, and the Kurds. And Trump overruled them to pull out. And a core part of Trumps presidency was championing ending Afghanistan as a political piece. Trump wants to pull all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan by 2020 election

Unlike the poorly coordinated executive under Trump, Biden really has no excuse for the Americans on the ground there or those translators et al that worked with out troops. He can't blame lack of experience and nobody else in the white house or the state department can do the same. That was an easy an obvious solve.

The rest, the Afghans at large, etc. is what it looks like when we agreed Feb 2020 to pull out and essentially cede control to the winner of an Afghan Government vs Taliban civil war. That was what we planned and knew was coming. The only way to stop it is to not leave.

Different political systems, mate. We have 'coups' here all the time because the parties decide who is PM, not the public. The female PM you are referring to ended up getting reverse couped by the guy she couped. That's how we roll.

You have to impeach or kill Biden. Not as simple to remove him.
He can be removed thru impeachment or via the 25th amendment

What continent should she be on when you want the focus to be on an Asian country like Afghanistan?
Yeah, good point, she’s really dealing with that issue first hand.

I just thought the anger at being on the same continent as Afghanistan seemed strange. Would you ask why she was in North America If she stayed put?

Given both the optics and seriousness of the situation I really wouldn't expect the vice president to be the one managing this regardless. Seems the president's job.

I think the response was inadequate preparation and inadequate after the fact. But I don't really look to the vice president for that. I'd put that on Biden.
