I have always considered that to be damning accusation of someone and feel it’s used as a political weapon in 2021.

However, the article contents isn't accusing everyone of being neo-Nazis. It is accusing literal neo-Nazis and domestic terrorists of being neo-Nazis and domestic terrorists. The marines appear to be over-represented and it's fair enough to point that out.
