Among the worst sports fan racist shit I ever saw came from Canada of all places, a "fan" threw a banana peel onto the ice in front of a black player. Crazy stuff

Canada has done great things in regards to their native populations. We should be following suit.
But FINGERS @Fingers (Lover of BBC) is just focused on the shocking images of appropriate protesting and anger that really should exist in most European countries if they were honest with themselves. European racism is significantly more passive and accepted.

Also I forgot to mention the shocking amount of anti-Semitism which still blows my mind.

Soccer fans are the worst.

Please. The continent that brought us Leopold, the slave trade, and continues only to hold their high and mighty view against America's original sin by continually ignoring their regular silent racism?

I traveled Europe.
When was the last time you went to the US?
What was the last time you saw Americans making ape overtures at American football players?

England, never anything racist there!

Your racism is ingrained. You have black only colleges. That is just bizarre to us. You actually have ghettos. Real life ghettos in the 21st century. That is an anathema to us too. Sure France has no go areas in the Banlieue areas of Paris. But it's not so bad. I've been there. You have extreme poverty in black areas that will never be addressed.

In regard to your example of the Euro finals. Well I'm afraid you are incorrect. Sure we have racists. But it's a tiny minority. Hellfire our teams are allowed to take the knee without our leaders calling them sons of bitches. And it turns out the majority of racist tweets were from foreign fans.

Regan was the start of the decline, 9/11 and GWB sent it into free fall.
There's a good case can be made for that, for sure. The American worker has never recovered from his "what's good for your bosses' bosses' boss is good for you" bullshit.

Correct we have an original sin that we still haven't finished fixing. We openly accept that and again you confuse the sausage making as the problem.

But so is your racism. And your anti-semitism which manages to somehow permeate both your left and right wings.

You have black only colleges.
We actually don't have black only colleges. We have historically black universities and colleges. They have white students.

You also think we are more racist because we say African American instead of American. I've heard the whole thing when I've traveled Europe. It's pretty consistent surface level understanding of what's going on here.

It's literally black Americans asking for this term and for historically black colleges to remain so.

There is a contingent of America that feels you should be labeling everybody just American and that those colleges should be as diverse as any other college.
It's almost entirely white guys like me let's say that. Again it's a surface level understanding and those that those institutions serve are requesting not to do that through policy.

thanks for your feelings on the matter.
because 'studies'. I'm sure you have seen all the documents.
Pathetic response.

It's awkward when you can't back your bullshit up with anything at all - but you're not honest enough to just say "I believe this purely because I WANT it to be true, I don't care if it actually IS true", eh?

I work with a group who wreck scamming call centers, and Indians really get ugly when they catch on to the trolling or fake bank accounts on a VM.
A lot of times they go right to the n word. Especially the women. Might just be selection bias but Indian bitches don't play.

FINGERS @Fingers (Lover of BBC) as a bastion of anti-racism, could you please tell me about your non-white PM/Presidents in England, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Germany? Surely there's been many?

Or could It be that your demographics matching 1950s America of a 90% homogeneous population simply allows you to claim no racism since you never significantly interact with other races?

Correct. Cosby has taken the same take but it's a bit problematic for many people who haven't reached their success.
I'd like us to get to a point where that's true. But those terms existing simply acknowledge the realities of the past and the need for continued improvement.
Europeans largely views those terms as existing as creating racism. I'd agree with that if black America didn't want the term and we were pushing it upon them as a label. But it's quite the opposite.

we're building internment camps to keep people out.

you're building them to keep people in.

that's a 10-8 round for America.
More reality for you - I was born in more of an immigrant nation than you were.

Thirty percent of Australia's population was born overseas. Eighteen million Australian born, 7.6 million overseas born.

The US' percentage of immigrants? Half that.

Fuck, even New Zealand, more than a quarter of its population - including myself - are immigrants. Almost twice as many per capita as the States have.

Anyway, you want to talk about internment camps? You think Australia doesn't have any?

Still got your feels, though. So you got that going for you, at least. And that's all you need, really. ?

Well it's important that we not generalize; Black Americans are still searching for an identity. Lots of people agreeing on what best fits ain't easy. The healing is starting but it's got a long way to go. Taking down confederate traitor statues shouldn't be a debate.

And the ex president just lamented it, praised the leadership of a military loser who fought to keep people property.

It's so long a road.

These are pretty weird stats to brag about.
Tiny countries with percentages. You ever learn about the law of large numbers?

Besides that lumping New Zealand that gets most of its immigrants from England and Ireland to join a Commonwealth population is kind of weird.

Our home secretary is of Asian descent. Our health secretary is of Asian decent our chancellor of the exchequer is of Asian descent our business secretary is black.

What's your point?

Prince Harry married a mixed race American person too.

We are pretty much perfect thanks.
No racism here.

Yes, I do understand the concept.

It's difficult to brag about how attractive your country is to immigrants because of how desirable it is, when you're talking to someone who was born and raised (by immigrants) in one of the most immigrant-driven nations on the planet. I grew up in working class Sydney. I very likely spent my childhood surrounded by more foreign languages and more immigrants than most if any Americans here did.

It's like me bragging to a Texan that Australia is hot and dusty, with wide open horizons of empty land. Yeah great, Texas is that too.

Besides that lumping New Zealand that gets most of its immigrants from England and Ireland to join a Commonwealth population is kind of weird.
New Zealand doesn't get "most" of its immigrants from England and Ireland. It used to, sure, but times change. Now, it's the Pacific islanders, Indians and Chinese. Take a walk around Otahuhu, come back and tell me if you thought you were closer to Manchester or Apia.

Yeah, there is no difference at all between Bernie and Ted Cruz, or AOC and Tom Cotton. Identical. President AOC or President MTG, it's exactly the same, absolutely no difference between any of them, at all.

Insightful commentary, for sure, and no doubt I can be certain that you'll be able to back it up with reality and certainly not just two lines about your feelings, based on absolutely nothing. Just to confirm, though, real quick - are you a troll, or a legitimate simpleton?

Splinty @Splinty - I just looked up the demographics for the neighbourhood I grew up in.

"33.3% of people were born in Australia. The next most common countries of birth were China 11.1%, Nepal 10.2%, India 5.9%, Bangladesh 4.5% and Philippines 3.6%. 26.8% of people only spoke English at home."

9/11, no

pussification overall. “I have rights”. “I’m entitled”, etc. or wait, does anyone have rights?

then the libtards support a decrepit nominee for president and this country looks like a very weak version of what it once was. How can you take any country seriously that puts forward that thing, whatever it is, in office that was once called the president

Biden is just a standard centre-right President who is too old for the job.

It's the last guy who made your entire nation look weak as hell, and like a nation of idiotic, vile fuckwits. You want to talk about "how can you take a country seriously"? Who the fuck do you think took you seriously after electing a barely literate reality TV grifter? You think Biden trashed your nation's reputation? You really are fully and completely programmed, aren't you.
