I'm getting an MRI next week and it will cost me 150 and I'll get 70 back through Medicare.when you first enter an emergency room in the U.S you already owe them at least 500 bucks this is before they even x ray you if you have to get an MRI that is at least 3 grand
Someone I know went to an emergency room in the past few months. Had all sorts of tests done and only had to pay around $350.when you first enter an emergency room in the U.S you already owe them at least 500 bucks this is before they even x ray you if you have to get an MRI that is at least 3 grand
But you guys pay like half your money to the government in taxes! Jokes on you fuckers!I'm getting an MRI next week and it will cost me 150 and I'll get 70 back through Medicare.
That's fucking horrendous.
While I agree that healthcare prices in the United States are absolutely abhorrent. Most of the prices stated are fake. It doesn't make it better but it does mean that things aren't actually as expensive as stated.
This comes from a long-running rigmarole between insurance and hospitals and drug makers.
Drug is $900 but the insurance company is contracted to only pay $100 for it and the insurance policy has the patient pay 20% or $20. It's not actually a $900 drug.
fucking auto insurance, I have 4 vehicles in my name... mother fucker I can only drive one of them at a time. We should be insuring the driver not the fucking auto. My truck is an absolute pile of shit, if I were to ever get it inspected they would remove it from the road for good and probably throw me in jail..... Its my cheapest vehicle to insure ffsi used to have this buddy who was a scottish cunt . he used to bitch and moan about how much things cost in canada."fuck sakes man 9 dollars for tylenol?? me mum is sending me 500 paracetemol for 2 quid 50 " fuckin guy couldnt get that drugs and dental arent free . he couldnt wrap his head around auto insurance for some reason either .
i went to the hospital last october. got a nasty concussion. had xrays and was there all day . it should have been a WCB claim but it wasnt. i got a bill for $458 bucks that i gave to my boss . i was expecting it to be much higherwhen you first enter an emergency room in the U.S you already owe them at least 500 bucks this is before they even x ray you if you have to get an MRI that is at least 3 grand
i tried to explain ICBC to my buddy .he obviously didnt get it . he got himself a shitbox car and set out to get insurance .guy comes to work the next day just bitching about having to pay like 1500 bucks a year for a 1500 dollar car. says he is going to shop around . i laughed at him. he comes back the next day bitching that everybody is the same damn price .... yeah dummy that is what monopoly meansfucking auto insurance, I have 4 vehicles in my name... mother fucker I can only drive one of them at a time. It's not a $900 drug unless you are uninsured that is. Then you're screwed.
Even for the uninsured you can negotiate the price just like an insurance company could. You just don't have much weight to throw around.
For hospitals if you are uninsured you simply have to ask for the cost of the lowest insurance that they've been negotiated with. They're required to give that cost. So a hospital charges you $20,000. You can literally just ask for a lower cost and they will give it because they have to. The insurance company has already done negotiating but they pray on people not knowing this.
It's a super gross system but when you hear about 2,000 or 10,000 or $20,000. Very rarely does 2000 or 10000 or $20,000 ever exchange hands in payment for that item.
Can't you just switch the insurance to the one you are driving?fucking auto insurance, I have 4 vehicles in my name... mother fucker I can only drive one of them at a time. My son broke his arm in FL on that big RV trip we did. Bill was $6000+ but our cost was the initial travel insurance of around $1000 then like $800 for the claim.Even for the uninsured you can negotiate the price just like an insurance company could. You just don't have much weight to throw around.

A guy that worked for me had a 43,000 bill erased...they knew he wasn't gonna be able to pay and he didn't have a steady jobEven for the uninsured you can negotiate the price just like an insurance company could. You just don't have much weight to throw around.
