LOL @ Quayle being the voice of reason.

That dude is a fucking idiot - but in that lot? Not so much.

I was actually legit surprised that he had the balls to go against Trump and the MAGA base, and actually carry out his Constitutional duty (and moral obligation.)

Aside from "potato", why exactly is he an idiot? He was before my time.

Also, since when is being "a fucking idiot" a deal-breaker when it comes to a politician getting your support?

He's like the Yogi Berra of politics, except he wasn't doing it to be funny.

I had to look some up. I've forgotten how gold that dude was. SNL murdered him every week.

Quayle: "The holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century."

Another good one that's more Yogi-like: "We are on an irreversible trend toward more freedom and democracy - but that could change."

More Quayle:

"I love California. I practically grew up in Phoenix"

"We are ready for any unforseen event that may or may not occur"

"It's wonderful to be here in the great state of Chicago"

"I stand by all my misstatements"

"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future"

I don't tend to get too hung up on minor verbal flubs. These people are recorded so much, it's bound to happen. I mean, when my mother got mad at me, she'd run through the names of my dad, my brother, all HER brothers (including the one who died in her childhood) and sometimes the dog, before she arrived at my name.

I mean, stick a microphone in front of my face when I'm tired and jetlagged and got the shits with someone who gave me bad news right before you walked up to me - but I can't talk about it or reference it - and I'll come off like a stuttering retard.

Plus, as time goes on, I don't think anyone can really make fun of Quayle being thick. The Overton window on that one has shifted drastically on the GOP side since his time. Quayle never went on live TV and mused on the possibility of injecting bleach into AIDS patient's lungs to disinfect the problem, did he?

It was every single time he opened his mouth. He was way worse than Biden, and that's saying something.

Trump still living rent free in your head I see. Probably pretty spacious up there.

the media treated him way worse than Biden.

He was a spoiled rich kid, so who knows. Most of those little flubs are nothing of consequence, though.

He has one of the two American political parties in a death grip, they are still a personality cult. Who is the most powerful Republican who is openly and stridently anti-Trump? Which Republican is running on a platform of "let's turn the page and get back to civility and governing instead of trolling"?

Look at the new wave of GOP stars. Gaetz, MTG, Cawthorn, Charlie Kirk....... every one of them cast in Trump's image. Who is the leader of the anti-Trump faction of the party, the way AOC and Bernie are the leaders of the anti-Pelosi wing of the Dems?

Technically, she didn't buy the dress or the ticket. The dress is borrowed from the designer, and the tickets for her and her boyfriend were comped by the Met itself. ?

??
receiving comped tickets is payment in kind.

nothing is free, everyone expects something from AOC for what they "gave" her.
it's literally the core hypocrisy of the ShitLibs, and her simps celebrate it like she's empowering poor people.

Gaetz, MTG and the like are hardly "stars". They just get the media exposure because folks like you eat it up.

GOP has an issue with Trump. And so does America. If he wants it, he'll get the nomination. And he might win if they can figure out how to stop all the fraud.

Well, a 30 year old Congresswoman with no family money splashing out $70k out of her own pocket for two tickets to a party would be indicative of a problem, wouldn't you say.

??
That dress was $70k?

Although I'd give her $70k to take it off.
