For example,

Netflix is rebooting That '70s Show, with Red and Kitty Foreman returning.

But this time, it's going to be That '90s Show. In 1995, Eric and Donna's daughter visits her grandparents in Wisconsin.

I remember 1995, ffs. I was a teenager then (just).

What little things make you realise that time is passing, and that you're old now?

I don't find most modern "memes" funny
(the funny picture thread is definitely a goldmine on not meant to be offended)

Modern memes to me are usually neither vulgar, nor offensive, brutal, offer a snapshot of a highly unlikely milisecond-moment, have funny faces or include clever wordplay.

It's usually a dumb text that follows the pattern
+ "When ...."
+ " XY be like ..."
and often add in that the author is making an excuse for being a loser

So that would be like a picture of a guy with his eyes popping out and the caption says "When she texts you she's not wearing underpants"
or maybe a picture with "Fedor's Belt", "Brock's Belt" and then of course "My Belt" and it's just a burned up shoestring or some dumb loser shit like that..

in the "old days" (so that would be 2006ish?) there would be just a picture of a guy who shat his pants and passed out on the porch on a party and that would have been enough. No unnecessary text required, no questions asked.

And that year by year, as getting older, one reaches the same age as some people in famous roles. Which is really creepy watching those movies then again.
Hell, I'm older than Marty McFly and Stifler..

Yeah I'm not even an actor, but it is always a kick in the balls to realise that if you were an actor, you wouldn't even be considered to be cast in a particular role because you've aged out of it.

Being contented with looking forward to next Sunday where I just want to go for a morning walk to the woods. Playing with the children and roasting some beef.

That's old age behaviour.

Looking forward to a day of dotage is something that has recently happened.

On that note, when commentators mention that athletes (younger than me) are in their twilight years and they're surprised they're still able to compete.

Yep.

My missus is 8 years younger then me. When she calls me old, I tell her "I'm not old while there's still a UFC champion older than me."

Felt good while Cormier was on top...... until I realised that Stipe is five months younger than me, and Ngannou and Gane are both years younger than him, and neither of those two are giving up the belt to Oleinik or Arlovski any time soon and oh my God......

I used to watch That 70's Show.
Initially just to see how well or how poorly they repped the 70's. And it did a good job of it: it was all ugly, everything about the popular styles of that decade, I hated. Ugly, grotesqueries everywhere. Wallpaper, art, clothing, it took the worst stuff from the 60's and put a new, garbage twist on em.

Yeah I used to watch that show and appreciate that the houses and clothes seemed to look pretty real.

I kept watching because it turned out to be a mostly well written show, and the father - Clarence J. Boddiker- was a lot like my own, constant grouchy threats. Not so much belittlement though

Seeing all that Star Wars stuff everywhere.

Makes me recall waiting in a line around the block as a seven year old. I can see a little Stormtrooper action figure ten feet from me right now, a birthday gift in 1977.

I had my first gut punch feeling about being old a few months ago when I couldn’t read this tiny writing on a piece of material at work. I was on speaker phone with a coworker trying to figure something out and they kept asking for a number on the device and I assured them there was nothing there. My 21 year old apprentice walks by and over hears, leans over and reads out the 8 digits and makes me feel like a dinosaur. I now wear glasses for things like tv and reading.

I quite often feel very fortunate that my eyesight is spot on and doesn't seem to have deteriorated. A few of my friends complain how blind they are, but my eyesight is much sharper than my missus'. I use my TV as a monitor for my PC, so I just display the desktop directly on the TV. It amuses me that I can easily navigate around File Manager and read individual file names from the couch, and she can't.
