Fedor Emelianenko was once the biggest “what-could’ve-been” signing in the UFC. Up until 2016, “The Last Emperor” was trying to negotiate a contract, and at the time, the probability of it coming to fruition was “very high.”

The flip side of this story, however, is Fedor’s impression about the UFC and its “oppressive,” “Draconian,” and “enslaving” contract. These days, the 45-year-old MMA legend carries a similar sentiment, particularly on UFC president Dana White.

“Money means everything to him,” Emelianenko said in a recent interview with TASS. He has no respect towards fighters, no respect for any human being. Only money and that’s all.

“There is nothing humane about him and I found that quite revolting. Money, of course, is important for living and for the family. But trading human relations for money is unacceptable.”

White has been a target of criticisms about fighter pay, which he seems to let roll off his back just fine.

As for Fedor, the former PRIDE champion is set to make a return after nearly two years on the sidelines against Timothy Johnson. The two will meet at Bellator 269 on October 23 in Moscow.

While it is not a popular opinion among many here,Dana was looking out for the UFC's best interests.Finkelstein wanted the UFC to co-promote with M-1.

at the given moment of the deal dana would have been crazy to get in to a deal with vadim and M1 . there was zero upside to co promotion to the ufc and 100% benefit to building the M1 brand. this was a way for vadim to get his greasy fingers on money using Fedor as a bargaining chip

Someone tell Fedor about Putin.

I'm a huge Fedor nuthugger, but clearly the guy is way, way past relevancy and is fighting in either fixed fights or getting smashed when his team can't convince him to fight cans.

Fedor just hit the problem straight on it's head, the guy has no respect for fighters and doesn't care that the piles of money he's sleeping on literally represents the deaths and destroyed lives of so many fighters, hopefully the sport will start changing, makes no sense at all that most regular sports has a higher pay than MMA, definitely needs fixing.

Fedor sounds like a super reasonable and nice guy, who instead of using the MMA media and UFC shills narrative, has understood the issue fully. Hard not to respect a guy like Fedor, a mans man over some bloated boxercise coach who never fought in his life and hit the get rich quick scheme by buddying up with the rich.

Basically the ones who follow the narrative of the UFC and Dana are the lowest common denominator fans, who will believe anything you tell them, aslong as that 3 letter word is behind the narrative they will swallow it with pride. That's what happends when you expand your fanbase more people become susceptible to bullshit.

Fedor fights for whoever will pay the most to his russian overlords. He's a simp. He should have took his own path years ago and maximized his career instead of fighting sumo wrestlers and other has beens.

He's a puppet. A nice guy. But non the less he's probably made more money for other people than himself.

Looks like clear fighter-bashing to me right there...

Is this the same Fedor who is backed by all sorts of vile, repressive authoritarian cunts, and who couldn't beat Fabio Maldonado in Russia....... except he DID, because at the time of the fight....... he was the President of the organisation that appointed the fucking judges for the fight?

He was awesome in PRIDE 15 years ago, great. And he never says anything, fantastic. Still, let's not rush to hold Fedor up as the shining epitome of moral virtue and respectful fighter treatment in MMA, eh?

??

At the time that would have opened up the russian market, and the dagestani fighters earlier. So it wouldnt have been as bad infact a good thing had they done that. Dana’s a cunt. Plain and simple.
