Dems wanted $600
They got $10k

But it's another attack on privacy under the guise of "Tax The Dirty Rich"

You guys are all cool with the IRS snooping through your bank records, right? I mean - what could go wrong?
The 600 would be silly but anything at $10k or above is already reported. So this isn't that much of a stretch.

As I understand it, $10k is annualized. Not single transactions. $600 was a joke.

I think this is just Step 1 of what they really want - a wealth tax.

I haven't paid much attention because as soon as I heard $600 I knew it would get shot down. The banks pay too much money to have to deal with that kind of monitoring.

Same. I don't know all the details but I knew $600 wasn't happening.

They say they are going after the wealthy - but I'm sure those who rely on tips are looking at this as an "oh shit" moment.

U.S.-Mexico border patrol arrests reach all-time high
By the numbers: Border officials made more than 1.7 million encounters with people attempting to cross the border between October 1, 2020 and the end of September, according to the data.

  • 1.1 million encounters were with single migrant adults.
  • Almost 480,000 were with members of migrant families.
  • 147,000 were with unaccompanied minors. Both the number of families and the number of kids encountered by border officials dropped in September from August. But there were still at least three times as many as in recent Septembers.
